satellite maps no longer available on my Ipad...How do I get them back?

The title about says it all. Earlier in my flight experience I saw that I could see my flight path overlaid on a Google style or 'hybrid' image....I no longer can bring up the satellite map. What have I overlooked?
I can't seem to find it in reading or browse the app. Is this just 'tough luck'? It isn't slowing me down because I fly within known terrain. But I do like that feature.
Any Help?

Does your iPad have a GPS antenna? Is the iPad connected to either a cellular or Wifi network?

Your iPad either needs to be connected to the Internet while you fly (so the maps can be downloaded in real-time) or you'll need to cache the maps like this in a location where you have Internet access before heading out to fly.
