Thanks for the quick reply, that's perfect, I couldn't get the video to load and got it in to my head they were a constant light, guess I should have read the posts more carefully, as the clue - the word 'strobe' - was in there lol

I have one of the cree type in white - incredibly bright for such a small strobe, but still hard enough to see in daylight that it doesn't add much to visibility in the daytime. If you can/do fly at night I'd imagine they are very effective.

I dont fly at night and usually like to be discreet but I sort of want a set of these now....

These ones i got off amazon are the beezneez i luv'em. You can see it further for sure but it also helps other pilots etc see you sooner. I noticed mounting them on the back kinda interferes with the stock rear blinking light so now i mount a red on one side, white on the other and a green on top. The one on top is mostly for other aircraft who may be above me i guess. Ive got lots of hours on these lights and can say they are durable/last through the weather, and thru crashes when mounted on my syma x8's... love these, would hate to fly at night without

Also an unexpected use i got out of it was a major help in finding a fly away drone... had a syma x8 go about a mile out before falling and i was able to locate it within 3 minutes using the mavic soley cuz of these blinking bad boys reflecting strobe off of a barn side and lighting up a bush nicely
