State Farm Insurance instead of DJI Care

Are the people here getting State Farm insurance just getting coverage for their drone or are they getting liability insurance as well?
Just the drone here for now.
But I don't think they'll insure for liability. They specifically ask if it's recreational, I'm not positive but I think they ONLY do recreational without any kind of liability.

I'm a big fan of this State Farm policy for your drone as a suitable substitute to DJI Care Refresh for your most expensive DJI drones. Not only is the premium inexpensive but also the payout for a claim is usually based on your receipt. I was cancelled in 2020 for filing one claim (may or may not happen to everyone) and I think I'm going to try again after waiting 5 years and when I get my Mavic 4 Pro later this year. It's a great policy to have even if you have DJI Care Refresh.

This isn't available everywhere so don't be surprised if your agent can't do it for you but use the details above to help them out should they need further guidance.

It happened to me a few years ago as well. Had State Farm policy for three years, filed one claim, and they refused to renew my policy right after that. So it is a great policy as long as you don't file a single claim.

For whatever reason, State Farm will not offer the PAP policy on any drones in the state of CA, and at $75 elsewhere, they are clearly not making money on the policy. Most State Farm agents will deny it even exists.

I also had understood that the $75 PAP was only up to a total of $2,000 of goods, of which a drone could be included.

It's clearly intended as a loss leader for them, as no one else offers a similar recreational policy that covers drones. Hence, when you file a claim, you can't get it again.

What is the dollar amount they are covering for the $75?

If you only lose your drone, but have three other batteries, the controller, and the charger, and hub, and case, will they avtually write you a check for the purchase price of the entire kit?
I asked, and the agent verified it was insured for the full amount shown on the receipt copy I gave her. And that was an eBay receipt! No problem insuring with SF in Florida. I've had several drones insured with multiple agents over a period of the last six years. It's NOT specific to drones. It's a valuable property policy, which could cover anything from jewelry, cameras, stereo gear, etc.

I know this is a discussion about state farm but I thought I might add what I am doing .
I in theory still have DJI refresh on two of my drones, even though now it is unusable. I have carried a professional photography insurance policy for loss, theft, damage and liability for many years, covering all my camera and computer equipment for full replacement value and any liability in working or using my equipment.. The interesting part is my drones are listed in the policy but they are only covered for loss and theft. They are excluded from any liability coverage.
I went and got a liability policy just for the drones out of an abundance of caution, since I am a part 107 user and should something bad happen, I want to be covered. The liability insurance is not inexpensive but doable for 2 drones but more than doubles if I list three.
