Tethering iPad to Phone Interference?

I am going to start using my iPad Air 2 to fly my Mavic. It is a WiFi only iPad so it can't download maps or anything when I am out and about using it. I can tether it to my iPhone (not sure if it uses bluetooth or wifi) to get data, but, will that cause issues with flying?

Tethering will not cause any interference. If you don't want to tether, you could also cache the maps in DJI GO in a location where you have an Internet connection before you head to your flying location.
