DaVinci Resolve most certainly can’t edit RAW files.
I thought you could purchase Adobe Creative Suite on single apps for a single up front cost but looks like they don’t do that anymore and haven’t for a few years(I guess I’m behind the times.)
I think all of us would love to me rid of Adobe once and for all but when all your technical training and experience is with one platform it’s really impossible to switch to something else. Especially Photoshop has absolutely no rival.
True, but you treat photos as 'clips', and can at least alter contrast and saturation, and there are many masking tools. So, while it is not as strong as dedicated photo software, or as easy, it does at least have some basic capability for photo editing.
Then, at the end of 3, 5, 10 years, what do you have for your $120, $240, $1,200, etc...not much more than me, and I've got $0 into it.
It's easy to get carried away with the alterations, and end up with something a professional would not accept.
