Weak signal at 1500m

Hi Guys.

Only flown my Mavic Air 2s a couple of times.

Both times with clear line of sight I am getting weak signal at 1500-1600m. I have latest firmware for drone, controller, batteries and DJI Fly is latest version.

My old original Mavic Pro could go 3 times further with no issues and I thought this was meant to be better than that.

Any ideas what the issue is?

It can be a few things.... make sure the Antenna is pointed at the Air 2S.

Try choosing 5.8g from the transmission menu. 5.8g typically has much less interference. I have a Phantom 4 Pro that is unflyable using 2.4g but a range champ with 5.8g.

Disabling Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your phone might help with the range too.

You can see an Air2 a mile away? I wish I had a set of peepers that good. And a Pro at 3 miles?

Chalk it up to a fear of losing my investment or worse, my Part 107, but I keep my drones close enough to track them visually.

Joking apart, its always baffled me about the range. Whenever a new Drone comes out its always got improved range, now up to 10kms for some. At anything approaching a fraction of this how can anyone have VLOS?
