What kind of case are you getting for your Mavic?

Most bags intended for SLR cameras are quite suitable, as I thought, I have at least two compact padded bags already which are almost perfect and very easily carried.
A small Lowepro one is the best with a couple of side pockets it can easily hold everything.
Most people really won't need to buy a specialised case.

Totally appreciate that it's horses for courses, but I just can't understand why anyone would want a hulking great big hard case for this thing (unless I suppose you're doing commercial work and it needs to look the part). I'm seriously considering keeping mine in a big sock!

I do a lot of traveling and found I can't always carry this on the plane so I feel much better checking it in this than a sock. LOL

I've been going through my older bags and have been favouring this retro bowling bag.
Fits the Mavic and controller nicely and offers more protection than all of my nylon bags.

These are mine. One is for everyday carry in my back pack and the hard case is for when I drive or travel.

Just throwing it out there, for the hard case should I go with another 2 battery slots or a charger slot instead. I have a total of 5 batteries.

Lowpro 250 sling edge aw is good if you want to carry extra stuff. It also has front access pocket where you can squeeze an in an ipad mini. Seems like a good holiday bag. I have an asus laptop down the front for demo purposes.

Fits with charger. The top compartment is untouched. Remote sticks are free.

I've already got a sling pack that works for hiking etc, I do a lot of serious offroading though with the truck and I bought the Explorer version of these guys hard shell case. It's got room for everything, upto 7 batteries, and I know people who own other models of cases from these guys with nothing but good things to say about them. Not the cheapest but looking to protect the investment...

Yea that explorer made me think a bit between which one I should get but the backpack seemed best suited for what I'm doing.

I use a hard case. See this thread for pics. Very compact for what it can hold. Will get a shoulder strap for it on amazon and a collapsible reflector disc for use as a launch pad.

Digging through my old cases .... any of these would work. The orange EMT case (with modifications), the Ryobi cordless drill case and an old camera case (with smaller cold pack case inside).

Looks nice. What model is that case?
If you turn those batteries 90 dagrees you could make 6 fit 3x2 Maybe?

I got the GPC case for "ultimate" protection. Very nice product. My Mavic and accessories are well protected. For day-to-day type use and being able to carry everything I need on a hike, I've got a LowePro FastPack CP 150 AW II.

Enough room for everything I need including all the accessories plus room for my MavMount, snacks. and room on the side for water...
