Better question is why on earth would you want them???Where can I buy standard non plus DJI M5P batteries? Cant find them.
Like many of the DJI drones available today, most of what's available is being sold by international sellers who either aren't well know or don't have a strong track record.Where can I buy standard non plus DJI M5P batteries? Cant find them.
If you're that invested in reducing the weight: buy the Japanese spec batteries for the mini 5 pro.... They're a lesser capacity and lighter Japanese Battery OptionsWhere can I buy standard non plus DJI M5P batteries? Cant find them.
Standard Intelligent Flight Battery | 2400 | ~200 | 36 |
Intelligent Flight Battery Plus | 3000 | ~250 | 52 |
Japanese Version Battery | 1100 | ~150 | 18 |
THATS INCREDIBLLY STUPID.The drone won't know you modded it to be under 250 so it'll still send.
Good luck with that.Same pain man, I wont return mine rather, I will be trying to found a way to shut off the RID on standard batts since aircraft is below 250g, its ok for me to fly without it.
DJI's RID broadcast algorithm is not based upon weighing the drone. It is based upon detecting a battery that tells it not to run the RID algorithm. Unfortunately, DJI decided against preventing RID on any battery in the Mini 5 Pro, even though they clearly originally intended to. The production drone just got too fat to meet its lightweight fighting class! Hence, DQ'd!THATS INCREDIBLLY STUPID.
It wouldnt be for my purpose, a drone under 250gIt would be illegal to sell it in the U.S. for drones that require RID.
Which US law requires RID to be built into drones flown in the US?It would be illegal to sell it in the U.S. for drones that require RID
You sure you want to die on this hill?Which US law requires RID to be built into drones flown in the US?
Sure, some people might use a hack like that to fly illegally, but there's nothing inherently illegal about it in general.
I was referring to all the money that could be made from selling such a hack to a foreign hack site. It's a moot point. DJI has locked it down tight. Unless you can find a backdoor vulnerability in the FW, which far more motivated and capable people have already failed at doing, I suggest buying a Mini 4 Pro with a regular Mini 4 Pro battery. It is not only under 250g, but it also will not broadcast RID, but it will with any other battery. It functions the way the Mini 5 Pro was originally intended to function, but just got too fat!It wouldnt be for my purpose, a drone under 250g

According to § 89.101, RID isn't required if a drone isn't registered and isn't required to be registered. So disabling RID on a drone that weighs less than 250 grams shouldn't be illegal. But if you happen to know of a law that says otherwise, please share it.
You're right, but that's exactly what the OP is asking about, which is the topic we're discussing here. You stated nothing illegal about hacking manufacturer's RID in general, not specific to under 250g.
Really? I'm just suggesting that you take a moment to learn about AI hallucination if you're not familiar with it. A lot of people don't realize it's a real thing and end up trusting whatever the AI tells them without question. You can stop with the personal insults, which are a violation of the TOS!
It's not a hallucination when it is true, and contradicts your broad false statement that it clearly contradicts, but you just want to split hairs to try and prove your superiority, while making false statements. You're right, but that's exactly what the OP is asking about, which is the topic we're discussing here.
In the US, there's no requirement to fly the Mini 5 Pro with RID when using a standard battery. So it shouldn't be considered illegal to disable RID if it were even possible to do so. Even DJI themselves have disabled RID on older Minis, even though the feature was built into those drones.
