Wishlist? What firmware functions do you want for the MA2

Totally different résult.

Let's say you fly above a car and you want your framing in diagonal.
You'll need to tilt down the camera and use pan to get the rotation needed.
Yaw would make the drone fly off axis.

Having the pan control on the gimble would be much easier to get the proper camera orientation.
That is a very unique situation. I still don't fully understand what you are trying to do, and why yawing and flying sideways wouldn't accomplish the same thing. Regardless,
you can already press and hold and drag on the screen with your finger for panning.
"Camera pan with the gimble wheel and the rec mode button. Like the new zoom feature."
You can't add a combination key like the gimble wheel to the already dedicated record button, which is either on or off , without it shutting off the active recording.

Smart controller compatibility is hands down #1 for me. That digital zoom is super lame and wish I could disable it honestly.
I take it you’re a professional photographer? For us ‘amateurs‘ the digital zoom function is a great addition that nobody was expecting when they bought the MA2

You're right about flying sideways, it would certainly achieve the same thing as flying faceway with the gimble tilted down and panned. Call it a beginner's preference (the Mavic air 2 being my first venture into flying cameras), I'm using active tracking a lot and obstacle avoidance, so I''m much happier using the drone with its sensors fully active.
.
I know we can use the screen to trigger the pan, but I wish to have a physical control instead. Like we have the tilt and now the zoom. I find it faster, safier and more precise than my fat finger touching the screen while flying, checking the surroundings, framing...
As far as the rec button is concerned you got it wrong. I was mentioning using the "Rec Mode button" as a modifier key. One press, video mode ; another press, photo mode ; long press and gimble wheel scroll, panning.

Hi all. First post here.

TapFly. I understand that the full waypoint functionality is reserved for the bigger Mavics, but the previous Mavic Air had TapFly.
This is one of my favorites tools to use. The ability to instantly set the drone off in a chosen direction while you are just left free to pan around and just observe the landscape.

Or, to be able to feature in my own sideways pan while exercising with no one else on controls. Plus, Taply flies smoother than any manual pilot
It's the reason i am still holding on to my Mavic Air.

Unfortunately, you can't turn a dedicated record button into a modifier key, unlike an Fn button. As soon as you press the Record to press and hold, you have triggered the record toggle. You would need the SC's multiple button programmability for what you want (coming soon, to an MA2 near you!), or programmable C1 and C2 buttons like on the M2 and Phantom RC's. You get what you pay for, except the MA2 does, apparently, have a FREE bonus level! ?

Being able to change my picture profile settings. The image coming out of the Air 2 is a bit oversharpened, I would like to be able to decrease the in-camera sharpening. Being able to lower the contrast of D-Cinelike would also be a welcome addition to get more dynamic range out of that PP.

I would like that, every time i turn on video recording, time machine inside my Air 2 turn on, and my drone to be teleported over beach where is Samantha Fox or Pamela Anderson, in moment when they are in bikini.

Of course, upgrade to 8 x zoom on 4k mode is mandatory in this scenario.

isn’t that what your porn sub is for?

No, of course, this is just a joke, i see above similiar posts.

What i would like to have is dolly-zoom as funkcionality implemented in dji fly app.

that would be cool as a quick shot. No reason the software couldn’t work out the rate of zoom according to the speed, trajectory, POI, etc.

Its awesome tbh i know its not optical but digital zoom has come a long way from when i last saw it great update for 99% of users.

Changing the subject:

I read there is a "task" library function on the MA2 that will retain a 45 waypoint flight plan so that I can access it after changing batteries.

Someone Please tell me 1) how to save a plan and 2) how to access it.

It’s only available for hyperlapse filming, is that what you want to do?

Exactly, yes. What I wish to know is how the waypoints are save in the task library and how I access the waypoints in the library after I change batteries.

There is a small icon in the top left corner of the little black view where you set the waypoints, the duration, interval and so on. You need to go to the waypoints mode of the hyperlapse for that view to appear

Helipad recognition for more accurate RTH.

Sub Folders by date on SD Card

Improved 48mp support. This can be done by stacking 10-20 layers In photoshop manually. Mavic could save multi layer image folders for later stacking. Would be possible to get true high MP images from existing camera, with reduced noise.

Multi subject tracks. Track subject 1 for 10s, then subject 2 for 20 seconds, then back to 1 for 10 seconds, etc.

HDR closer to D-Cinelike, for later LUT usage.

Sub folders of any sort. Perhaps an option to create a new one when the first picture/video is taken after power on.

yes I like this one, we had a suggestion to maybe have an option to subfolder by date too which I really like too.

Thank you. I'll look for it when I fly again. Need to study for my 107 test in three days. STRONG on eveything but clouds and weather.
