YOUTUBE TO DELETE DRONE CHANNELS ?

The problem is Youtube's principle of trusting viewers' flagging way too much and siding against the content provider until cleared. That allows organised people to mass flag videos they don't like and shutting the channels down until reviewed, which can take weeks.

When I first posted, you could have looked at Ted's Holdover channel for a reasoned video on yt actions, in the last few hours, that has been deleted by youtube now. Being an insider he suggests that yt are bowing to anyone who flags a video mentioning gun , leaving the video maker to try a worthless appeal process, another youtuber AEAC reported that his appeal was replied to, in the negative, in seconds, clearly no one at youtube is rewatching the clips for a reasoned response. Both these guys had the foresight to privatise their videos, so they can still be viewed on the link supplied by Sprocket in post #14. Thanks Sprocket
Have you actually got a drone?

Tell us about it and what you do with it . .

No it’s true! YouTube is deleting ALL drone videos. You must delete any and all drone videos you have ever uploaded to their service immediately!

You can thank me later for this advice.

Now back to YouPorn and hopefully that will never get removed, cause, well you know...

There is a question mark in the title now. I suppose that’s better, but the shrill upper-case statement still remains. “Do you think YouTube might delete some drone channels?” would be a more appropriate and measured title.

Question mark = secret workaround for publishing whatever headline you want

Uhm yeah... No. Can you cite a source for this information? Something tells me that my drone videos will remain on YT long after I'm dead.

YOUTUBE is deleting airgun channels, left right and centre. Ted's Holdover channel has survived, and Ted has put a plea on YOUTUBE, for the case of those that remain. I wish Ted Bier every success, because , who knows, next month it will be those nasty, dangerous drone channels that will be deleted from YOUTUBE. People are happy for me to fly my parkflyers, helicopters etc (they fail to notice the cameras) but as soon as the drone takes off , many overreact. Don't say I never warned you.

Maybe a bunch of folks should file a class action suit against YT for unlawful censorship. Maybe Vimeo would like to have all the content that YT doesn't. From what I hear from some YT'ers YT is getting to be a real pain to deal with from a content providers POV.

Airguns of Arizona, Pyramid Air, Ted's Holdover, American Airgunner, Hatsan USA, Umarex USA, Utah Airguns, and of course , a bit closer to home , Daystate... all terminated. Many more worldwide, and many strikes. Largely due to "flagging" the word gun , by organised antis. The inflammatory title is intentional, and so is posting on an American read forum, in the off topic section

I've got MACHINE GUN videos up on youtube and they are all still there...

The sad truth that we've learned from the big social media sites is that we are not the "customer"... We are the "product". As long as we keep logging into our free accounts, they will keep doing whatever keeps their customers, the advertisers, happy. Mo money...

Don't worry I wouldn't lift a finger to help Google or any other left wing company do anything like that.
Correct me if I am wrong.
I'll correct you because it is in fact damned wrong of you to invoke political judgements into any of these discussions. Shame on you no matter which wing you might be on!!!

Have you posted on the knitting forum warning them their channels are going to be deleted? They have as much risk of being rubbed out based on what you posted. I think your post title is misleading. It should be, You Tube might, one day, delete drone channels as it bends to social do-gooders. Without anything other than look over there evidence, it was a waste.

Errmm... quad flying isn’t illegal I fail to see how sensible aerial videos and photos would get ditched from YouTube. I suppose if it did happen,we’d just find another way to upload videos within a community. I mean jeez, does anybody remember the internet of the 1990s!?! Google ain’t god. Not yet anyway. YouTube makes life easy for people to Upload stupid videos for the sheep. Passionate people will always find a way to share their love of a hobby online. That’s a given imho

YouTube's recent actions is exactly what is needed to help motivate people to move to competitor sites. Dtube is a great example of a decentralized blockchain-based video distribution network that looks/works like YT, but is (apparently) immune from censorship. It also allows video authors to receive funds for their submissions directly from viewer voting - no middle man, no monitization rules, etc.

I don't know enough about the technology to sound even remotely smart about it - but one thing is for sure... seeing YT's behavior as of late, is that swift kick in the pants I needed to help me research and learn more about such alternatives. I'm getting increasingly closer to ditching all things google. It'll be painful, but every day, they're proving more and more that WE are the product.

Maybe you should read Rule 13 in the Community Rules for this site. I will be waiting for your apology.

Do you know any of the real background information as to *exactly* why these channels were shut down? No speculation, just hard facts...? It would be interesting to see the actual *why?* behind YT's actions. Google, and Google owned YT has (I think) a good reputation for not censoring information. Search Google for the most depraved things you can think of, and they'll deliver the results. There must be a [good?] reason for their actions.
actually you might want to research that. Google is slowly making a reputation as censoring anything that doesn't support their bias.
