    Gimbal problem

For the past few days I've been having some issues with my gimbal horizon always being off. I've done the gimbal calibration a few times but I still have to adjust the gimbal tilt often during flight. This morning while flying I had my gimbal freak out. My screen tilted wildly back and forth and...

    Grand Cayman video

I thought I would share a quick video that I just put together on the DJI Go 4 app on my iPad of the Rum Point area on Grand Cayman. This is just the video that gets streamed back to the iPad and saved there. 1080p it looks like. The video begins and ends at the Sea Lodges Beach Cottages which...

    New firmware: V01.03.0600

Noticed a new firmware this morning with a new feature: Fixed-Wing mode. Haven't tried it yet, but sounds interesting. It's described in the new manual as: Fixed-Wing Mode The aircraft will fly forward automatically at a certain speed after entering Fixed-Wing Mode. Push the left stick up to...

Flying in remote locations over water

Disable the downward sensors. They can have issues over water. Or at least they did. Also, there is a new firmware out right now: V01.03.0600

GIVEAWAY: DJI Mavic Hard Case by Freewell Gear

Favorite tip: attached a red ribbon to the gimbal clamp to help remind me to remove it before flight. I was constantly forgetting to remove the clamp then getting gimbal warnings when starting up.

50% Drone Security Deposit in the Bahamas?

Very interested in this. We traveled to Eleuthera (Bahamas) last year and plan on going back again. This time with my Mavic. I'll really want to research this before I do.

Well, this is interesting. https://phys.org/news/2017-02-passenger-carrying-drone-dubai.html Up, up and away: Dubai hopes to have a passenger-carrying drone regularly buzzing through the skyline of this futuristic city-state in July. Mattar al-Tayer, the head of Dubai's Roads &...

Part 107 lost link return to home question

I'm studying for my Part 107 test right now. Something that just came up was a lost link procedure that would bring the bird back home but they want you to do it in a way that avoids flight over populated areas. As in people. The return to home feature on the Mavic or other drones doesn't...

    Maintenance Schedules

I'm a member there already. A free member anyway. And I've been uploading my flights to the system and then taking the generated information and entering it into a spreadsheet. That should give me all of the information I need for my flight logs. Near as I can tell you have to be a paid member...

    Maintenance Schedules

Does anyone have any set maintenance procedures to help keep the bird flying? I don't think DJI has a maintenance schedule for the Mavic. I'm just trying to develop my own to cover all of my bases for logging my flights and maintenance to further enhance my professionalism when it comes to the...

    Tracking shipment

When I was notified of my shipment, the tracking number showed the location as China. I had my Mavic in two or three days. Sent from my iPhone using MavicPilots

Crashed Mavic Repairable or Not ?

There is currently a forum bug that does not allow photos placed with the Gallery tool to show up in the mobile app. I have already alerted the forum admins and they are working on a fix. Sent from my iPhone using MavicPilots

    State Farm said no!

But if you don't have any other insurance, doesn't it become your primary insurance?

Mavic Batteries - check in on flight or hand luggage ?

Everything from the FAA does say that. You are correct. I'm talking about the Mexican authorities. I'll try and find what I read about that. I thought it was on here someplace...
