Well I pulled the trigger, Mavic comes tomorrow!! I won't be sleeping much tonight! I have a P2V+ now and am wondering what accessories you find absolutely necessary or really like for your Maveric. The ones that interest me so far are the joystick holder and sun guard for camera. If they ever become available the ND filter set too.
Input on good and bad accessories welcome as well as pics!!

I made an accessory for my mavic so i could use a professional size tablet and real hood. I call it the mavmount, and by popular demand, now offer it to other people as well.

I guess you did not go in for the portability side of the Mavic then. All you need now is some FPV,s and do a waypoint mission to Mars :)

An extra battery is a definite must. I've had my Mavic for about a week now and I've purchased so far:
  • Extra battery
  • ND Filters
  • DJI Sun Shade hood
  • Landing gear extensions
  • Lens hood
  • Controller joystick clip
  • Carbon fiber body decal
Future purchases:
  • Another battery
  • Charging Hub
  • A travel backpack to hold mavic + other items (gopro's, etc.)

Well its 8 ounces, and fits in the stock case. My girlfriend can hold it just fine as far as weight goes. Real easy way to get a real screen. Super portable. Usually its in the back seat of a car, but occasionally I throw it over my shoulder.

I fly Inspires professionally for movies and commercials, and made this as I believe this is what it takes to ensure proper exposure on a shot, and a washed out cell phone isnt cutting it for me. A cell phone was just too huge a step down from what I an used too.

here's the mavmount, and an ipad mini , in the stock case.

What ND filters did you go with? Do you like them?
Also which sunshade? And body decal, I think the carbon fiber looks slick.

fair play its your job i can respect that,

mine gets slung in a carry sleeve batteries in pockets, remote in pocket, cable in phone in pocket. spare pair of props in pocket.

benson and hedges in pocket, zippo lighter

That is my travel kit :) If i have the luxury of a car that means i get to take a car charger too.

its probably why all my videos would not even be used for a home movie :)

but boy i can be out of that car and in the air in 60 secs and having a lot of fun.

all with some albeit badly framed memories.

handy if you are in a Thai Jungle in the north as well, stick it all in a wet-bag and off we go. They are pretty tough these Mavics.

For the filters I went with these: Amazon.com : PGY G-HD ND4 ND8 ND16 ND32 Filters Lens Set for DJI MAVIC Pro Drone Quadcopter : Camera & Photo. So far I like them, I've only used the ND16 so far though and still learning how to use these.

For the sunshade I went with the DJI branded one. I only use my Note 5 so it was enough for me. Also it doesn't look HUGE on my controller like other's I've seen. The DJI branded ones looked out of stock everywhere, including DJI so I ordered mine on Amazon for a few dollars more just so I can have it in my hand in a couple days.....lol.

I was looking at these but have seen a few (not many) people say the gimbal will not initialize with them on, have you seen this?
Thx
I think you're maybe confusing with the early polarpro filters that definitely had that issue, but I think they fixed with the "cinema" series. I reached out to them when they first came out for a pro review but they were still on backorder.

I can tell you the taco filters I have basically live on my drone. I never take off the ND 8, as the vast majority of shooting im doing is in that range to properly set up the camera for video. Same as my inspires I use for pro stuff.
