Hello all,

Purchased my Mavic Pro a couple of days ago, did a 60 mile round trip in some of the worst winter conditions we’ve had in the uk for around 10 years cos I’m an over excited doughnut :p

I’ve already spooked myself and need some advice from you seasoned vets’ as after reading some articles n watching some YouTube vids am thinking that I may of put my new baby under some unnecessary stress;

It’s one and only flight so far has been in -1.7 c with some very slight snow and a couple of strong gusts.
Bearing this in mind it was only a 4 min flight covering 300ft top speed 7.8 mph top alt’ 600ft.

But as I’m a worry bot just wanted to ask you boyz n girls if it’s going to live n if i need to put it in a bag of rice or something : (

Looking forward to your advice

People do fly them in dry snow but there is a risk of drawing snow in through the front vent fan.
Take the battery off and leave it in a dry place for a couple of hours if you see traces of moisture.
In practice it will get far wetter flying in fog or cloud.
The motors would probably run under water but the electronic boards inside could be affected.
Clean rain or snow is practically distilled water, salt spray is the real killer.

Being patient is a major part of this game, there is plenty of good flying weather coming up.

You could take the props off & run it inside so the heat will dry out the drone internals.

Hi, only 4 mins, why so short, and how was it at 600 feet?

Hi there, soon regretted sending it up so pulled the plug after 4 mins due to the wind picking up and the slight snow.
Yer my one n only flight record shows ‘max takeoff altitude’ as 601.7 ft, I’m not sure I even know what to compare that to but it sure sounds high.
