Any Ai3 3 s arriving in the USA?

When I ordered mine back near release day, I opted for the next-day express shipping and received it in 2 days rather than one. Perhaps that is a better way of shipping it to hurdle customs, or I just got really lucky.

Ordered my Air 3S on 12/20. Shipped on 12/21, arrived at Atlanta and was pending customs clearance for 3 days. Notified on 12/25 it was being returned to shipper, never asked for any information, never cleared customs. Two chat sessions with DJI, and then a call to them. Customer service rep offered me a refund or a re-ship, I opted for the re-ship. I asked what the odds were of it passing customs due to the ongoing issues, she said honestly its up in the air and may take a few attempts. It was re-shipped 12/31, but this time to New York vs. Atlanta. Cleared customs on 1/1, arrived at Cincinnati hub, cleared there and now states out for delivery to me today. This was the fly more combo that I ordered.

Sounds like DJI is trying different routes to avoid some of the delays. Can't wait to get my drone!

Package delivered! So 12/20 original order to received on 1/2. Outside box is intact, no inspection.

it is a very good drone. I honestly went back and forth between this and the mavic 3 pro and picked this one due to the cost of the m3p that I would want to buy. My only dislike is the brightness of the rc2 screen in direct sunlight, it is not nearly bright enough.

Order mine from DJI on 1 Jan. Has been in the Cincinnati Hub since the 4th. Looks like the delays are getting longer.

Still haven’t received mine. Had one from DJI ordered in October, spent quite some time in customs in ny before they shipped it back to DJI. Ordered from DronePoint in December. Hit buffalo customs on the 18 of December and there it sits. A return to Sender request was filed on the 7th of January, but it still sits in the warehouse. Frustrating.

Must be very frustrating, fingers crossed you get one

Inquired DHL and received the below response.

My apologies for any inconvenience. We understand the situation and will be glad to assist you. We know how important this shipment is to you.

As per my system, the shipment has been either detained or is under exam by United States Customs and Border Protection (U.S. Customs and Border Protection ) for a more intensive inspection. This process can take anywhere up to or over 30-90 business days and DHL has no control over this process. Should Customs decide to release the shipment, it will be delivered within 24 business hours of being released. If Customs decides to detain it indefinitely, you will receive a letter in the mail from the USPS stating the reason the shipment was not released. Please continue to monitor this on our website Mydhl.com

Found the number for the DHL hub in Cincinnati, (859) 980-6666. Called, lady said the Agricultural answers during the day. It is an overnight DHK hub so to call after 9pm to talk to the Overnight Hub personnel for help. Will keep you updated with any results for others with this problem.

I reached the customs tonight. Was told there is a ban now on DJI and DJI drones have to have a deep search. Part of the problem is DHL is not providing the proper paperwork, so they have to investigate the item and wait for documents from DHL. He will contact the office that has my shipment and hopefully they can get it released in the next day or two. If not I need to call back again. Hope to hear something this week.

Have you had any luck getting your drone delivered? I have one sitting in customs in Cincinnati, with little to no movement. It was ordered on Dec. 10, 2024.

Two days later I received a notice that it was being sent back to China. I called the customs office to ask why and he said because of child labor laws, they are all banned and being returned. I have other sources following up with DJI contacts to see if we can find out more about this.

I have searched around and found that Drone Nerds shows them in stock. I talked to them. They informed me that the have another warehouse in China, they have their orders shipped to their warehouse, then ship them to the US. They informed me that it is a paperwork issue with DHL, they have to dot the I's and cross the T's, and provide certain information, and they are dropping the ball on that so direct orders being shipped thru DHL are not coming through.

I ordered one through them as they said they have stock in their China warehouse and I will be notified when they arrive. He said it should be less than two weeks. This may not be the best way to get them, but if it works it works.

I will post here if it does come through and I receive it.

Thanks for the update, even though it does not bode well for my order of a Mavic 3 Pro.

I ordered a refurbished unit, that they showed in stock on their website and they took the order and my money. They then emailed saying they did not have them in stock (the website still showed refurbs in stock for about another week) and when I pushed them, they said they would ship it from China. Basically, I put this on DJI and U.S. Customs. What a mess.

And DHL

Mine still sits in Buffalo customs as it has since December 18. Drone point sent a return to sender request on Jan 7 to UPS and again on this past Friday. Still it sits in buffalo. No drone, no movement and no refund. Politics at work. Not sure who is failing with the paperwork required for child labor laws but I think that is what is catching the 3s models. Frustrating because you know once it is caught in the customs net it will be going back, so just send it back. Seems customs wants us to pay a price as well DJI and Distributers.

After two failed attempts at getting an Air 3S directly from DJI, I told them to just refund me and ordered one from Adorama. It shipped out the very next day, and this was the fly more bundle with the RC2.

Still have yet to get my refund from DJI, but worst case I’ll just do a chargeback.

Yep. I had a failed attempt from DJI. To their credit they were very good at communicating during the event by chat, email and phone but the refund only comes “within two weeks of them receiving the drone back, “ I think. My refund did fall within that period but that’s after it sat for a couple weeks in customs. I can’t imagine you wouldn’t get yours.

Not sure I’m giving up yet on the 3s but this venture started in early October. I seem to be late to the party each time. I’ll just enjoy my pro 4 for now.

Ordered from Drone Nerds on 17 Jan.
Here is the shipping info. Drone Nerds has their own warehouse in China and they use UPS not DHL.
Will post if it arrives tomorrow.

DJI used DHL for my AIr 3S, but when I got the Flip, it was shipped UPS. Not sure if this was a recent switch or what.
