Anyone using motor covers

I saw motor covers for sale, they are supposed to keep dirt out of the motors when flying. Anyone using them? I’m curious because of possible overheating due to lack of air circulation.

Thoughts?

Any cover over the motor will reduce cooling and there is significant current running through them. Like any air-cooled device it’s better to not restrict air flow.

If DJI had thought that there would be a problem with dirt ingress then their motors would not have open tops the covers you mention are just a fashion gimmick to make your drone look different and are of no benefit whatsoever

Is dirt getting into the motors while flying a real problem that needs some aftermarket kit to solve? I certainly haven't had issues with dirt ingress nor felt the need to fit caps.

The only cap I use is one to cover my shiny bonce to prevent distracting pilots flying overhead.
