Bought and Tested the DJI RC Plus on Ebay that claims to work with the Mavic series of Drones. Guess What? IT DOES WORK! I'll tell you why.

Did ya'll really read my previous post. I told you how to disable firmware updates

Have you updated the fly app to the most recent version for RC Pro ?

I did mine by downloading the dji fly app from their web page. Rc pro apk. File

I wasnt taking any chances with a download from within the fly app

I also had to do a firmware update before my drone would pair

The only update you must avoid is the one that says. “cONTROLLER FIRMWARE UPGRADE”

Once i disabled the “check auto updates”

The nagging message to update controller went away

Hi rexer1505 and Joe_gates,

I re-read and followed both of your instructions for disabling the "firmware updates" nag

I did the following which should have disabled the updates nag -
  1. Selected "Profile" from the DJI Fly Main Page.
  2. Selected "Settings" from the Profile Page.
  3. Selected "About" from the Settings Page.
  4. Slid the 'Auto Check for Updates" to the LEFT or OFF position.
  5. Exited the DJI Fly app and power cycled the RC Plus
  6. Downloaded the latest APK of DJI Fly app from DJI's website and installed DJI Fly app v1.17.1(1015-official)
I am still getting a nag message in the upper left of the screen (under the Academy selection)
"Update Resource for DJI RC Pro Download"

That update is ok to install

The one to avoid is;

Its the one that says “CONTROLLER FIRMWARE UPDATE”. Or its labeled “RC PRO FIRMWARE”

dont do that one!

Resource library for RC Pro is ok

I still don't see a way to keep the RC Pro update nag from popping up.
I would love to remove it, if possible, only because of the potential for an accidental select.

If it can't be removed, then I won't waste any more time on the issue.

Hi Joe_Gates,

I just re-read you last message and now I'm really confused. Are you saying that in my message #144 (and image) where is says - "Update Resource for DJI RC Pro Download", That it's OK to download this??

I am having a hell of a time finding out exactly what’s in that RC pro resource

On second thought; I would hold off until someone can confirm exactly what is in it

What version of the fly app are you running right now?

I am confident this is NOT a firmware update

If you want to play safe; try to ignore it

If you execute it accidentally; I am confident you will be fine!

I let it download the other day. Mine still works great but haven't fooled with it to find any new "tricks"

Hi Joe,

I am running DJI Fly Version v1.17.1(1015-official). Got it directly from the DJI Website.

I did try flying my DJI Air-2S, but I didn't try updating the fly safe data base

I am still having a hard time believing the Update Resource for DJI RC Pro Download, doesn't contain any firmware updates.

Rexster confirmed downloading it. See post 153

However if you are hesitant; I suggest you don’t do it.
