The Chehalis River Discovery Trail winds through quiet farmland and along the lush banks of the Chehalis River. Eagles soar overhead, fish leap for insects, and the air is loud with bird song. Ancient cottonwoods may still be found growing on the riverbank, and newly planted woodlands will one day also watch like lofty sentinels over the fields and forests of this bucolic paradise.

It was perfect weather for flying - very little wind and overcast skies provided good, even light for photography. I also practiced flying my Mavic 2 Zoom in very tight forest conditions - down forest trails with only a few feet of clearance on all sides. There were a few sketchy moments, but overall the obstacle avoidance systems of the Mavic 2 did an impressive job of navigating through the dense forest.

Thank you! Yes, the area certainly has a few nice locations - I love going out and photographing the farm country around here.
