page 65-66:
"Hold the aircraft vertically, with its nose pointing downward, and rotate it 360 degrees around a vertical axis."

DJI GO 4 app shows a different aircraft attitude/rotation axis instead.

Which one is correct?
 
I do nose down, but either will technically work.
 
It only requires 2 orientations to ensure that none of the three magnetometers is orthogonal to the magnetic field vector.
It is more complex than just an orientation check, to get proper mag offsets it needs rotation on all axles. At least it is how freeware code is written for compasses.

I didn't say it was an orientation check, I said that the process needs to rotate all three magnetometers not parallel to the external field. That's all that is required to separate the internal and external fields, and presumably why the DJI calibration process rotates around two orthogonal axes, not three orthogonal axes.
