I can understand your frustration and not being there makes this a bit more difficult SO Lets start from the very start (sorry) TELL ME if I or you are missing something from this list
1. you purchased a Mini Pro
2. you brought it home and fully charged the batteries
3. You went online and created an account with DJI.
4. You started or attempted to start the drone and On the controllers screen it is asking for an update.
are we correct so far?

I have a mini 3 pro

batterys are fully charged.

dji icon shows my email addy

have NOT started or attempted to start drone (will do that shortly)

it was my thot that B4 starting drone, I needed to have dji assistant 2.

to gather upgrades (wrong word, but my terminology is not geeky)

so.. are you suggesting that i take the drone outside and fire it up and go for a spin, very short spin. 2-3 min

then to come in a try again with updates or.....?

re you suggesting that i take the drone outside and fire it up and go for a spin, very short spin. 2-3 min

Yep forget the update for now and lets just make sure the drone will start and fly Caarefully follow the instructions for prepping and starting your drone.
Take note of any messages the controller gives you as you are starting it or while it is running.
Start it up and AFTER you hear the Home point Phrase- gently hover the drone ONLY hover.
then move the drone slowly forward backwards and both sides
Finally "roll" the drone around to make sure it spins fine. LAND
Did the controller ask for an update? let me know.
No warnings on the controller? You are ready to fly! Welcome to the hobby.
any thing else LET ME Know I will get you flying today!

ok I have controller and drone turned on beside me inside.

still cannot get past 'select wifi network'

so I cannot take it outside and even attempt

OK if memory serves you need to swipe up on the controller to get to the wi-fi settings I will look for a video then you will be able to choose your network

going thru my pwords, I find I have 3 accts with dji (my attempts yesterday?)

I deleted all but 1

and then I find I have an acct with mavicpilots? no idea how I got that

but prolly yesterdays mad scramble to try anything

If that is all working fine
Make sure your controller is logged in to DJI and follow the instructions to start the drone you can do this inside if you wish BUT DO NOT TAKEOFF just start the drone and shut it off- now its time to go outside.

correct pword

I just deleted 2 with pwords that were computer generated.

the acct that was left has pword that is assigned by me when opening 1 of the 3 accts.

I am now kicking myself for not keeping the pwords that were generated.

but I figgered if theres 3 accts, each with their own pword,

then deleteing 2 accts and keeping the 1 with its pword

would be correct.?

I,m seeing on the network wifi selection page, there is

provider... and then pword..

but between these, is 'safety' and a set of digits/numbers.

I have not altered anything on the 'safety'

If you must but you will need a DJI account with a password you have access too If you want to delete the others you can BUT its not nessecary just always use the one account ( DJI will delete the unused ones themselves)

I prefer to just stick with the 1 acct..

I had no idea that i made 3 accts yesterday

just found out a few min a go when I went searching for pwords on my comp.

you will need your own networks name and PW I can'ty help with that BUT select your WIFI network and password when asked your drone will start without being logged in but it will only fly a short distance it is BEST to be logged in and everything ready before you fly
