News ??
DJI introduced the offline mode a couple of years ago.
DJi's had geofencing for many years, and removed it for the US last year.
GEO was actually removed January 13 this year in the US, but neither the removal of GEO nor the local data offline mode were what the video was about.

The video postulates that the primary reason DJI is being restricted in the US by Customs holds, preventing DJI from shipping into the US is because Skydio wants to eliminate the competition, and has used their lobbyists to convince key legislators that DJI is a threat to national security. However, Skydio is not even competing in the consumer space at all. Lots of speculation, but there is no doubt that DJI's position in the US. Is under attack from multiple fronts, with a hard deadline of December 23rd, that is unlikely to be met, and their two newest products are not being sold by them in the U.S., where the U.S. represents some 30% of their global sales.

Skydio spent their money and did their damage only to bow out and run to the military side of things I think REDCAT will eat them alive tho.

I am new to drones so offline mode was new to me.
That was not the main reason I posted it, if we are to believe your government it's all about security it obviously isn't and never was.

Skydio has been forced to admit that the majority of their internals are coming from the same China suppliers as DJI. China only had to stop/delay parts shipments to the US to halt Skydio production, at least until they can source the same items elsewhere..like Korea (but from same China sources). Smoke and mirrors..and outright lies. Politics beats common sense.
