Please forgive my ignorance, if I'm wearing these goggles and I need to do something on the screen, do I flip out of a goggles, make the changes and then put them back on my eyes?

You can flip the goggles up while you're wearing them.

Thx, and I see they are "flippable" .....thought maybe there was someway they were open at the bottom or transparent and you could look down like you can with the glyph, . But flipping is OK .

You definitely cannot look up/down while wearing them.

Why do you say that?
Are you just talking about the fact that he will see nothing?

About not being to looking down to see the phone screen while you have the goggles on like he asked...

BTW you can also do some adjustments using the touchpad on the goggles themselves, don't always need to use the phone.

The Avegant Glyph headseat doesn't sit right against your face, so you can look up/down to see above/below them. That's not possible with the DJI Goggles since they sit right against your face.

Ok, I thought that was what you meant but I wanted to clarify to see if you were talking about the head tracking.
