DJI Mini 4 Pro Vision Sensor Calibration After Crash

I just wait, official calibration software support to change it. Like it is done in Mini 3 Pro.. We will see.vision sensors in mini 3 pro are not bind to coreboard.

Services said me that we wait for calibration software support by DJI, so we can change sensors with that. Otherwise, device won't work as you just said.

So far there will not be any software release to recalibrates vision sensors. Also so far no service center is doing that You guys have to understand DJI did this to be automated when the drone sense a malfunction of a sensor.This is why they didn't release a specific tool for it. If that is not working you have to send the drone to them to be fixed. So far I don't know any service center who is doing this recalibration.

But they released DJI Assistant 2 under Mini 3 Pro compability for vision sensor calibration. Maybe it is too early to talk about. Calibration can be done on Mini 3 Pro, why not on Mini 4 Pro..

As i truly understand that, DJI has this software on their services but they didn't release it to public right ? Maybe 3rd party open source things may solve this later. There will be always a solution

Good luck with that.I am interested more than you because I repair drones every day but I don't see it coming.The drone is released for some time now and nothing has been done so far. Dji will loose money if they do that. They discovered a new way to make money so you have to hold your breath until they release something

One thing I've found with this group/forum is most dont do their own repairs, has in other groups where the majority do their own repairs...

I am all for diy repairs and have rebuilt one drone completely and repaired another but if the crashed drone is under warranty or covered by care refresh then diy repairs may be invalidated those 'covers'.
In addition
1) some diy repair are based on guessing what the damaged part is, buying a replacement part and hoping that that part was the problem, if it isn't and further guesses and purchases are required then the costs can quickly mount.
2) DJI have started pairing some components to one another, especially the gimbal/camera assembly with something else inside the drone. This can complicate matters considerably or perhaps make a diy repair impossible.
3) DJI do not make many parts available to the public, props are the only one I know of, consequently most parts are either pattern parts or parts salvaged from other drones
4) to be blunt some diy repair jobs are wreck less, to the point of stupidity, and possibly render the drone in airworthy.
5) amateurs may miss damage, I did, it took several strip downs to find all the damage in the mavic 2 I crashed.

You can replace those on your own no problem. After you replace them you have to go outside where there is plenty of light and hover the drone higher than 6 feet. You will see a prompt on the screen and the calibration will start. The calibration will not start if you are not on the flight. Because they want to preserve the battery the sensors will not become active when you have the drone on the ground.

After replacing the sensor, the device does not start

It seems that started to be a big problem around DJI users. The only logical solution is to take them DJI service right now. DJI doesn't allow it to be self repaired by users. Shame !

I've done it once but I replaced the whole sensor assembly from the front. This was working for me. You always can message DJI support to ask about the procedure to follow for calibration. I remember a discussion about this and DJI didn't say you have to send the drone for calibration to them.

Hi Georgerom, could you explain the process you followed? I tried it, but it didn't work. According to my research, the Mini 4 calibration process is complex, so only DJI can do it.

I saw the glues, whenever i change sensor i gonna glue it again with special glue, as i remember it is like T-800 or something like this, maybe hot silicon. ı dont know. Thank you again telling your experience. That helped me a lot knowing auto-calibration on air..

I heared from local drone repairer guy that sensor calibration software will come for Mini 4 Pro finally, but i dont know when. So, i wait for it to make some changes on it. Now, i fly by closing sensors on air. I open when on some dangerous locations and in low altitudes. And i agree what you say about reparings. DJI unfortunatelly follows what Apple does literally. Look their websites, very similar to Apple. We have to wait as of now.

Okay, so all we have to do is wait patiently.
If that software doesn't arrive, as far as I know, the only option is to buy a new logic board with its sensors and replace everything.

I'm glad you didn't try to replace it, because what they told you is true. Unfortunately, I was hasty, tried to repair it, and lost a very expensive drone. In my case, after a crash, the sensors stopped responding, but they still allowed flight. Then I replaced the sensors with the flex cable, and it no longer allowed me to fly. I reinstalled the original sensors and it returned to its original state (no sensors, but flight allowed). But I, stubborn, insisted and persisted with my tests, until I ruined it, and now I can't fly anymore. Sad.

There is no news regarding. It still needs a special calibration. So i didnt change any of sensors. Just we are waiting like everyone.
