Looks like the upper prop guards are removable...

Likely necessary since the props will eventually need to be replaced.

Makes sense, can't wait to see the official release, pretty sure I will be adding this to my fleet ;)

I will have a Neo on launch day, assuming the Best Buy in town has 'em.

Then, I'll be purchasing the "Neo Steroid" when released in 6 months with full spherical OA, IP7 water resistance, 45 minute flight time, 28 grams and level 5 wind resistance. Oh, and a camera with a 1" sensor, variable aperture, and support for the novel new "DJI Think" controller that reads your thoughts.

Gosh everyone, isn't it awesome to finally have some real competition for DJI? 😁

Make sense there are so many leaks if we are getting really really close to a launch; next week???

I've read in multiple places the 20th.

Not sure I'm thrilled about the storage situation, is there a microSD card slot or not? Don't care where it is located. But if you only get 22gb of internal, feels like my original Action 2 which is not enough. Perhaps there is a second, upgraded super NEO pro with better specs and a few more features; won't mind paying a little bit more.

Ya they say you "might" need to remove the battery to access the SD card. So they clearly don't know if it has one or not. There's a lot of speculation. And the RC-N(2?) Controller doesn't appear the have the center N mode on the switch. Definitely alot of oddities. And alot of speculation. Will see with the official release....

The specs as reported on Quadro News suggest that the 22 Gb of onboard storage is it. No Micro-SD card slot.

Which makes sense if you are trying to shave every gram of weight. If you just have onboard flash storage, you eliminate the need for a SD slot, controller, and slot cover. With a maximum flight time of 18 minutes, you will not be filling up the 22 Gb of storage.

We'll know when it's released on the 20th and the reviewers are released from the embargo.

When I fly FPV, I run the camera from start up to landing. Only 22gb of storage would mean that I may need to offload the internal-only storage after every other flight, no?

Assuming that this leaked information is accurate:

The video appears to top off at 75 Mbps. Rough math takes that to 9.3 MBps. So multiple that by 60 seconds, then 18 minutes and you get a bit over 10,000 MB over 18 minutes. Divide by 1000 and you have 10 GB. Enough for two flights.

Seems shortsided, why not provide 32 GB and provide enough space for 3 batteries with the Fly More package. It's probably by design, if you want to shoot a lot of video, then you want a drone with removable storage. This intended to be cheap and light.

This drone is not for me. 18 min max flight time... while I'm already thinking of ways to increase the 30 min flight time of my Mini 3.
When you are going hard with FPV such as in an abandoned building or on a playground in and around obstacles, it is easy to get exhausted and you begin to make mistakes or slow down. In reality, you are probably good with 10 minutes straight at top end no hovering before you come home for a quick rest before the next round.

The FPV drones are not as nimble and when you flying around in tight spaces, not a good idea to deplete the battery far away from home in small places so I will come home long for getting close to [18] minutes. You don't want to try out low battery RTH if you can help it. However it would be nice to have a few extended capacity batteries for the occasional long range flights. I think it's more important to have a bunch of batteries so I'm hoping these are inexpensive so I can collect 8 - 10 for a daily outing.

im hoping this will work with my portable drive
normally i just plug in card in the field and it automatically downloads all the data ready for card to go back into the bird and be reused.
With any luck the neo should just plug in and upload its contents and be ready to go again in short time.
Otherwise itll mean carrying laptop with me to get data off the drone in the field

We should only be that lucky. I mean, why not all DJI drones work this way? I really doubt you can plug in a hard drive or SSD and pull the data from the memory of any drone and when it's done, erase the files off the drone itself. I think you're going to need a computer. And, how long will it take to copy 20g files from the drone to an HDD, 30 minutes?

when i plug in a memory card it just sees the file structure and downloads. If the drone has the same file structure it could work. ?
I havent tried plugging a drone directly in, and to honest, havent used this external drive in a very long time, but ill test it out and see what it does.

If the neo works out, ill be getting a few for training and for students to play with and not any real photography. Might be a good way to introduce some racing without worrying about them damaging expensive craft. So the internal storage works for me. Will save me getting a heap of memory cards
