Rant Friday. I hate people getting Ripped off! So US Drone owners need to avoid sites that "HELP" you register your UAS Drone. Already UK Done Flyers are being targeted by "PRE-REGISTRATION"... DON'T.. There is no registration scheme yet. It won't be launched til 30th November 2019!

It is a rip-off, but as long as they follow through with the registration, I don't think there is anything illegal about it, at least here in the States.

I own several web sites. I frequently get registration offers for $75 per year, when it only costs $10 at most registrars. The fine print (unreadable without a magnifier) also authorizes them to transfer the registration away from your current registrar to them. These schemes have been going on for almost 20 years.

And then there is the magazine scheme where you get a renewal form that looks like it comes from one of your magazine publishers, only the company is unrelated to the publisher.

As long as there are people on this planet, there will be schemers. The only way to put them out of business is to not fall for their schemes. Unfortunately, a fool is born every minute.
