Have you guys had UPS steal the contents of your package?

I say do it. There are a lot of people that are the "I dont want to be involved" type.
But they are no help to society. People SHOULD know what can and DOES happen. They need to know that they are not alone, and with perseverance, all is not lost. They also need to know what you have learned the hard way.

I went ahead and did it because they wrote me another letter saying the first was a mistake and they can't tell me why. I did the media interview and he said as soon as it airs I will get a call from someone at amazon. Anyone that he has worked with that had an issue with Amazon, they were called right away and given refund and credit plus he said they usually do a little extra like send gift cards and things like that because he does follow up stories. Oh yeah the box says it weighs 8lbs for a Mavic 2 Pro. Why would anyone want to pay more shipping than they should. Gary Harper took the box to weigh it to see if it comes close to 8lbs with the contents. It showed 5 on my scale at home but its a cheapo scale.

here is the email they sent me after they said they would refund me.

They didn't lie about the weight. A standard house brick weighs around 3.5kg, allow 450gms for the apples and the marbles/sand or whatever and its going to be over 8lbs easy.

The question you should be asking is who might be happy to donate a brick and apples as ballast? The answer probably is someone who understood packages are weighed at certain points in the delivery chain and that to remove the original product might require that something be put in its place in an effort to avoid suspicion/detection.
But there is no way my order could have been 8lbs for a M2P.

It isn't uncommon for the indicated shipping weight to be wrong. My refresh prepaid label and the weight for its return were mis-stated.
I believe the claimed return weight was 10lb. They probably get a bulk shipping rate.

The M2 kit would be 5.5lb, not sure what the free accessories would add up to and the packaging. Could be close to that.

It’s a safe bet they don’t have Walmart own branded canned apples In Guangzhou so the fairest assumption probably remains being that the M2 made it out of the suppliers warehouse in the box and the shipping declaration included the correct weight.

Declared weights for air cargo are usually pretty close to the mark, the pilot needs to know what his take off weight is.

Have you got the refund or not?
Negative, they were saying that the email before was incorrect and I did not get a refund. I called and confirmed that no refund has been issued. I am not worried though. Just going to sit back and see how this plays out. Mr Harper called UPS and they advised him the only time they will allow someone to open a box before signing is if it looked like it may have been damaged. Either way, the only thing I can do right now is wait so, im going to crack a beer open and watch some tv.
Edit and my wife and I are going to drive to Vegas around 2am so I won't be worried about this one bit. I need to make the best of the situation. Either I get my money back and buy a new one or I learned a valuable lesson, either way, we are going to put this behind us for now.

Thanks to all of you that have been keeping me sane during this time. Even those that don't agree with me, I thank you all for taking the time to educate me on some things and chat with me like were buds and not a bunch of jerks. Talk to you fellas later. Good night!

We found out the seller is a company in Washington and the warehouse they ship from is in New Jersey. The NJ address is registered to some other company.

That's assuming it isn't shipped ground.
Tracking from (or maybe it was to) DJI repair had 10lb. Box it returned in has 5lb. AC sans battery, RC and 4 props isn't 5lb.

UPS Corporate Account Information - I have one, I can estimate or put whatever I want on the DIMS / weight. Once the package is processed through a UPS Hub, the box is scanned for its dimensions weight. I am constantly receiving credit (or billed) on incorrectly identified package information. On my account, I ship for about 1/10th what a Consumer pays; I'm sure DJI/Amazon exceed my discount.
For reference - I shipped my DJI Spark items in a 18 x 14 x 8 box, weighing 9 pounds OVERNIGHT early delivery for $18.

Moral of the story, weight/DIMS on the label does not matter, its worked out on the back-end and the receiver of the package does not have visibility on this. You could ask the Seller/UPS see if this applied to the tracking number when it was scanned en-route to you...

I am still thinking this is a seller issue. Just curious, has the recent seller feedback had complaints??

I understand but it clearly states 8lbs on the package. I do have good news. After channel 3 news got involved, the seller refunded the entire amount.. I was notified today by the reporter and then Amazon.

The seller admitted fault to the reporter and also acknowledged that they did not have the evidence they reported to have.

Just wanted to let you guys know that Koozam did the right thing, they have a 3rd party warehouse and they refunded the entire amount. So that being said, while I felt mistreated and I had to get the media involved, they did the right thing so good for them and thank all you fellas that helped me through this.

I ordered some very expensive stuff from a 3rd party seller on amazon. They had amazing ratings and seem to be good folks. When the box arrived, there was regular packing tape on the box but duct tape on top of it. I signed for it and opened it. Inside was some trash and other crap. I chased the driver down and showed him. He said contact amazon. I contacted the third party seller through amazon and they are basically saying that I must have done it. I didn't even make it in the house before I ran to the UPS guy and called amazon within minutes of this.. Anyone ever hear of anything like this?

Edit the seller is blaming me saying the cameras in UPS trucks show the package without duct tape. The UPS truck does not have a camera in the back that can see the packages because I asked the UPS guy today about who or how this could have happened. He said 9 times out of ten it would be someone at UPS that pulled a switcheroo.
I never sign or even paid (in case of COD) before opening. The guy always say: you may sign first if you want to open and see, but I always decline saying: sorry, this box maybe is empty.. I open in Front of the guy... If wrong or damaged product I just run the normal refund process online later. If the box is empty (or trashes as you got (buy this never happened to me)) I will reject the parcel and decline to sign anything...

Having an issue with Koozam is surprising. My dad and I got a great package deal from them for my P3A a couple years back. I suppose any company can have a 'bad day'.

They share a warehouse with another company so my guess is that one of their employees grabbed my stuff or it was UPS but Koozam is the one who refunded me not amazon. Amazon at first said yes then said no, so I got the media involved and Koozam refunded my money after the reporter called them to get their side of the story because they lied about a bunch of stuff.

I thought Amazon said no, then yes.
Koozam has great deals, but not a consistent source. They appear as if they might be a surplus broker. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
