I'm from and currently live in LaSalle, ON, Canada - flat, boring area probably for flying drones. I'm excited because I'm a photographer and this will give me the capability to get shots from a different perspective than ever before. Haven't received my Mavic Air yet (4 more days until delivery) so I just wanted to check in. My brother has a Spark and a Phantom 3 so I'm sure the Mavic Air won't be difficult to use.

Howdy from Wyoming @PwrBoss302 , welcome to the community, plenty of fine folk and excellent information here.

Welcome to Mavic Pilots .
I hope you will find our site helpful and look forward to any input , photo's/video's you might post .
Don't be shy and ask anything if you can't find it by searching .
:)

Thanks.
I know one of my first Qs is about using my Mavic Air in the USA. I've got sisters that live in MI and I camp out there sometimes. I've read somewhere that you have to register a drone that weighs more than 1/2 lbs.

Hey there!
I'm new too, so take this with a grain of salt, but my understanding is "Yes."
Anything over .55lbs and under 55lbs gets registered for $5.00 over at FAADroneZone

Though, you might have an extra headache ahead of you as a Canadian.
Not sure how that will work. Good luck though!

You just need to register yourself if you're flying as a hobbyist. The same FAA registration number should be applied to all of your drones.

Thanks. I'll have to try contacting the FAA. I'd rather not run into any problems.

Welcome to MavicPilots from Dayton Ohio! I'm starting to regret not getting the Red one, it is slick! Fly safe and have fun!

Scheduled for delivery tomorrow before 10:30 A.M. Can't wait to try it out. I kinda wish I'd bought the flat black one. It looks pretty cool.
