Learn the tricks and little things that you need to watch out for, and learn it slowly / safely as you progress.
There's a lot to learn apart from reading the manual again and again (at least a few times), YouTube tutorials are a great way to boost the learning curve, as well as reading the mini forum here.

Wide open space.
Slow & easy
Power-lines & trees are evil.
Don't expect RTH (Return To Home) to save you especially if you are under trees.
Don't forget to read the manual

Welcome to the forum. You will have a blast flying. Just keep it slow and low for awhile until you’re comfortable. I hate hearing about all the fly aways.

We travelled to maine to see our first moose,we stayed in cabin on a lake in Kokadjo twice.
Price,first drone if i wreak it wont matter too much,bought it secondhand,has 2 hours on it[accrording to logs[,came with 2 batt and double charger,parabolic and yagi range extenders and spare props, spare controller sticks and filters for $400aud.Mini 2 are about $1200aud at moment.
Been watching heaps on youtube for months.
