Legal Flight and ATC notification

Hello hello ...
Yes- Wapingers Falls NY here-
Flew the other day and called Dutchess county airport (Class D) and gave them a heads up. That all worked fine but still having trouble understanding the "within the programming of a nationwide community based organization". I joined AMA and wondering if Im covered under the rule by just following their safety guidelines ? Then there is the State Parks ? Anybody...

You don't have to actually join AMA to be legal. You just need to follow their guidelines for flying.

State parks may have their own rules prohibiting you from launching or landing on their property. You should check with the state parks agency in your state.

Also, drone flights are prohibited in all National Parks properties.
