M2 Enterprise battery on Mavic 2 Pro

As I understand we can use M2 enterprise battery in M2 Pro but I am not clear on this self heating feature.
I read that self heating is working if firmware is not updated but are we talking about drone firmware or just battery firmware ?

But how to avoid not to update battery firmware ?
Any other advice ?

I have both the M2P and M2ED. I used one of my M2ED batteries in the M2P by accident one time, it came up with the inconsistent firmware warning with the slide to update, I updated not thinking about it. From my understanding it dummies it down, and you lose the self heating function, I didn't try it though because it was too warm to try it. I put the battery back into the M2ED and got the firmware update again, I assumed it set everything back. Again this is just my personal thoughts on the matter, I haven't been able to test the self heating function after using it in the M2P.
