M3 Pricing supposedly leaked.

I don't think so.

The main reason for the 250 g limit is because many non-USA countries severely restrict or ban the use of drones heavier than that.

In the USA, people get the Mini-2 because it's the best beginner drone in that price range, by a wide margin. I'm sure some people in the USA are committed "non-registerers", but that it's a small fraction of the USA Mini-2 owning population.

I could be convinced otherwise...with data...

Thx,

MM
Why would you register and paid for something that is not required? Charity maybe?

Do you enjoy being prohibited to fly in areas where you are legal able to fly because of some clinch in DJI software?
When that happens, my thought is, like any good turd, this too shall pass.
Do you enjoy paying high prices due to the lack of competition?
In all cases, at all times, when I buy something, I would rather pay less. If the market presents me with an option to buy something, I have the option to buy it or not. If I do, it means I've determined that the item I'm buying is worth more to me than the money I'm paying for it.

This is pretty much Econ 101...
Do you enjoy dealing with a poor customer service department?
Not at all, which is why I'm glad DJI doesn't have that.

Is there a point to this rant?

That's probably useful for some people outside the USA.

Personally, I'm indifferent to the 250 g limit.

Yeah I’m referring to those like me who are more effected by it. Might be relevant to some others as I’m sure a lot of people where I am are active in this thread due to the drone in question 👍

Until it passes it’s a pain.

Like I said, no competition means higher prices. Econ 101.

One of the reasons this forum exist is due to the failures in customer service on the part of DJI so your doesn’t exist comment falls flat. Unfortunately we have a generation of folks that don’t seem to mind being beta testers accepting the idea that advertised functions promoting the sale of an item don’t really need to be functional during the first weeks or months after an item is released.

I think we've seen the last of cheap-ish DJI drones
Why do you say that?

At $299, the Mini-1 is seriously cheap, and it's a great little drone!

Because it was released back in Oct 2019, coming up to 2-1/2 years ago.
Yes, it is a great little drone, apart from the initial uncommanded descents, power issues.

Is the Mini still available there, and US$299 current pricing ?
If so, it's because they are clearing them, always happens with DJI drones at (what DJI and retailers consider) end of life.

DJI have market dominance.
They have product dominance.

They are ready to shift and not return to low pricing, DJI and Chinese manufacturing in general.

Like other Chinese business over the past 30 - 40 years, they have slowly (or with DJI not so slowly) taken over World manufacturing, THEN we see pricing shifts like we are now and in the past 5 - 10 years even.
Their technology capabilities have increased far beyond manufacturing the basics like textiles, where they started all this.

Coupled with the greater Chinese population wanting (demanding) more than just sustenance type incomes, prices for all Chinese manufactured items will increase quite quickly in coming years.
If they aren't already the Worlds dominating financial power, they soon might be . . . and yes, China real estate is in MAJOR trouble, which could affect this, but it will also drag down a lot of the rest of the World with it.

Where are you guys going to have an epiphany and sudden realise the M3 is way overpriced?

Not sure why you quoted me, I agree in part . . . and you are talking M3 and not Mini 3 ?

Of course all current DJI drones are priced way higher than previous models, no doubt cameras, other tech has a lot to do with that.

But DJI drones are also the dominating force in the Worlds drone market, product, technology, distribution, and believe it or not service / warranty, of course they are going to maximise their profit as much as possible.

I'd like to see their profit / unit for each year since 2015 / 2016 or so.

Really? Is this true? Was that a foundational reason for creating these DJI boards many years ago, or, as I suspect, the site(s) were created purely as a community interest discussion board, like all the other RC, car, 3D printing, gardening, rock climbing, flashlight...... I could go on forever.

I highly doubt this board was created as a counter to bad DJI support, but of course I really don’t know.

my biggest issue in even thinking about the mini 3 is do I have to wait 9 months for the **** thing to be good and what I payed for. I returned the m3 and now im just trying to figure out what the smart move is... sitting on a air2.. wish I had the air2s and would probably be happier.. miss that camera on the m3... but man being a beta flyer for 5 months really pissed me off on the m3.. I would love a mini3 that could take some wind but I just doubt it...
I'd wait, what do you gain by queueing at the door?

Some that come here do so because they received (or at least perceived) bad customer support from DJI for something or other.
Most of the time it will be pilot / newbie error though, and in the main where the forum experts here have shown a definite failure in a drone in some way, I'd say the vast (almost all) of those pilots have received a positive warranty result from DJI.

As with everything, complaints can seem high, but for every 1 perceived bad experience here, I bet there are a hundred (perhaps hundreds ?) of positive experiences, and of course in the main they don't come out making statements to that effect, they just enjoy their drones.

I'd estimate DJI has far fewer returns or problems in general per market share than any other consumer manufacturer.
Talking consumer drones here, not specialised commercial type ops.

My personal feeling about the many complaints here about DJI releasing drones too early is justified . . . not refined at release, not to specs, functions not working, and sometimes some pretty serious aircraft flight faults.
There're probably reasons for this, but I'd say DJI is now a bit of a behemoth, very hard to them to be developing / releasing drones and keeping up with the huge back room support needed for their market size.

Ah so it’s basically a air 2s replacement except mini and better
It lacks air sense, but for its weight class it does not appear to be needed (by near future law), but to me it certainly is. In actual videos it will go head to head with the Air2S so that is that. Mini does not have the same maximum speed but the wind resistance is the same, on paper, but in reality better because of the horizon even higher than mavic 3. You will see before the end of the month though
