Mavic 4 Pro - 4G Dongle with RC2

I’m on v00.00.0000 firmware and the 4G Cellular Dongle works properly on my drone.
I came across a firmware version labeled V00.04.0501 through an external firmware listing.
Is this firmware known to retain 4G dongle support while also adding features from newer official firmware versions?
I’m trying to determine whether this is an official transitional build, a regional variant, or a test firmware.

Where did you find the firmware? that version number doesn't really line up with the Mavic 4 Pro. The Matrice 30 has a V00.04.0501 though.

He would have got it from Dank Downloader. This is the only other place that offers all Dji drone FW.

@emirkurtpro I would not recommend installing that FW. Its beta FW and will void your drone if it crashes

Interesting, is there a 3rd party tool for flashing or can you use assistant somehow?
Yes, You can downgrade via the Drone Hacks app using a windows 10/11 PC. When you try to downgrade, The drone Hacks will not actually recognize the Mavic 4 Pro but don't worry and just go ahead. Ensure you download the correct FW from Dank Downloader which is 01.00.0000. This is the only FW that will give you 4G Enhanced Transmission using the RC 2.

01.00.0000 makes more sense than .00.0000 which we were referring to above. Thanks for clarifying.

Yes, to use the 4G Dongle 2 on the Mavic 4 Pro outside of China then you will need the RC 2 and the Mavic 4 must be on the original FW which is 0.0000. Any FW after this disables the 4G Enhanced Transmission.

@GadgetGuy Dongle 2 is not compatible with Mavic 4 Pro and has been disabled in software after FW 0.0000. It only works now with the drones below but if you use the RC Pro 2 then it will not work at all as the software in that RC has disabled it as well.

Are you kidding?! I have been trying to figure this out for months on my CC! And I have a brand new m4p rc2 fly more that was purchased on initial release, most likely with the old firmware on it. It's actually worth keeping now for sure than selling it. And is the Drone hacks just assistant 2 because I have that and can revert to an old firmware on my CC drone with an rc2.

No, DH is an app on its own. To download and flash the FW is free and you don't need to pay. Please note that the 4G Transmission will not work if you are using any FCC hack. Download the app from below link.

I use Drone Tweaks FCC together with 4G.

Same here.

No issues with FCC and 4G working in synch.

Tips to ensure 4G always kicks in seamlessly when RC signal drops etc...Before flying, turn on, then turn off, and then turn on enhanced transmission.

What I was finding, before deciding to do this, was that 4G would not take over after RC signal was lost.

For some reason, that turning off and on procedure, seams to tell the drone "we need 4G to take over" when RC signal drops.

May just be my drone..But, my 4G has never failed since I started to do this.

Do you need to use the modded DT DJI FLY app in the USA to use the Mavic 4 Pro with the Enhanced transmission?

I'm going to guess not because it's already in FCC here but I don't know for sure yet
Correct, you don't.

It's only for outside USA, for example Europe etc..

FCC and 4G makes the Mavic 4 Pro an absolute beast. I was able to fly it around 15 miles away from home, with a bit of tailwind help, and came back with 10% battery left..I was a nervous wreck, lol.

But yeah, only thing we need now is to somehow combine two batteries into one, and I have every bit of confidence that it will do double the distance, weather permitting/assisting...we can only dream.

These guys make one. I mean it's only 10 more minutes but that's something. They make piggy back batteries for the Mavic 3 though.

Your welcome 😁

Hahaha.

What an eyesore!!

All that extra booty, for 10 more mins LOL.

You'd think you'd get at least 80-90mins with that...especially at that price.

Not sure what effect this would have to the motors either, running for a solid 60mins without stopping, let alone with a battery (if they make one) that could give you a continuous 80-90mins.

Its incredible we get 40+ minutes of flying time on the Mavic 4 Pro, a non-commercial unit. The few electric RC planes I have need to be brought in within 5-10 minutes flying (at least the pattern RC planes I fly); no wonder I still prefer to fly my gas planes which provide a much longer flying time yet no comparison to the Mavic 4 Pro (generally speaking since I know an RC plane flew across the Atlantic from UK to USA).

It is genuinely incredible.

I came from a toy drone, back in 2015, which took 1 hour and 45mins to charge, in return for 5-8mins of flying, with no videos transmission or even auto hovering..just basic line of sight operation stuff.

Lost it within the 2nd flight, and whilst it cost me £20, I was still gutted.

I went away from the drone scene for 10 years, and returned with my 2nd drone purchase..an Air 3s Flymore Combo.

Which then followed hours of YouTube videos, only to find that the real demon amongst drones was the Mavic 4 Pro.

Naturally, I sold it, and bought the Mavic 4 Pro, and told the Mrs that it was "only an extra £100" 😄.

Happy with the Mavic 4 Pro so far..Just wish someone could create a Wide Angle Lense that does not need to wait for gumball calibration before fitting it etc..

DJI, or some of the other companies, need to get their finger out so I can spend my hard earned money on more unnecessary crap 🤣 .

It appears to be 25% more in weight compared to the original battery (~339 grams). So that's only 83 grams. Well within the payload capacity. If it ads 10 extra minutes to the maximum flight time that's about 20% and add a bit more for the plastic and stuff. I mean if you want to fly for an hour with enhanced transmission that's an option. Perhaps you would've come back with plenty of battery left and no stress as long as you thoroughly tested it first.
This is a regular battery with an extra 10 minutes. From DJI the battery is $240 & $300 USD depending where you bought it from. So about $48 per 10 minutes from DJI. So it costs a bit more than normal if you look at it that way. About $67 every 10 minutes.
