New Jersey Drone Sightings May Not Be Drones. By Professor Will Austin.

Re: the Oregon Incident (sort of)

I live in Oregon. That's not a secret.
I know people in the pilot community. I didn't make a secret of that either.
In discussions among the pilot community, they speak of not speaking of such things as unknown flying entities.
Many have seen some. I've heard first hand recollections of incidents. (I've even seen something I can't explain and sounds too preposterous to even recount to others).
The pilot community, generally, won't mention unknown flying entities to authorities as it's considered a career ending subject. I know a lot of that is carry over from earlier times but the reluctance still exists. There's such a stigma surrounding the subject and there's still a lot of people in power who think only a nutjob would "see" a UFO.

He never said they developed antigravity tech, he said they reverse engineered it from crashed UFOs

And that somehow makes it more believable?!?

Whether they invented it all by themselves, or whether they learned it from Martians isn't the point. The point is that your expert claims that humans possess teleportation and antigravity technology.

As a member of said licensed pilot community, got my ticket in Hillsboro, what you are saying is somewhat incorrect in my experience. Yes, CFII's mention seeing something you can't explain only means you can't explain it: doesn't mean it is what your imagination does with the information. So report if you want, but the report stays with you.

And yes, pilots see odd lights on occasion, but the lights have never been verified as aliens invading. Like that flight over Eugene where the pilot reports seeing lights at his 10 o'clock where yes indeedy there was another commercial craft at, yep, his 10 o'clock, a hundred or so miles away, with reflections darting around him off the lower level clouds. Sure, could have been drones; could have been aliens; could have been multiple foo-fighters playing with the minds of those looking that direction. But guess what: when atmospherics support bending and reflecting light, anyone looking that directing will see lights bouncing around. ps: simple temp and pressure inversions bend and reflect light.

And there are simple explanations for those tic-toc videos circulating as proof of UFO's. Look close and you'll catch a glimpse of the tail fins of the F-18 the guy is following on maneuvers. There's a reason they are posting an ultra low res FLIR video and not the gun camera video.

I have no idea what's going on in NJ, or if there's been any change in the presence of drones in the sky at night starting in November. I'm making no assertion about the siuation 3000 miles from me.

That said, I will assert the following: Here in Santa Cruz, on the west coast, a drone of any kind flying around at night anywhere in the Santa Cruz County area would be noteworthy. There simply aren't drones flying around at night, nor are the skies filled with manned aircraft that can be mistaken as such.

So, if night after night numbers of drones were observed flying around for hours, it would be more than enough reason to wonder what's going on, and being dismissive about it as mistaken manned aircraft wouldn't be an answer to "what's going on".

Is what's happening on rhe east coast similar to this in terms of a indisputable, significant change?
I commute 28 miles from my home to work in Seattle each day, I work 12 hour shifts, so half of they year I'm driving both directions in the dark. Each morning, but especially in the evening, I see a long line of lights strung out like street lights as far as I can see - planes lined up to land at SeaTac. And flying perpendicular to that air traffic are a lot of other visible flights from Boeing, the naval and army bases, and many private small planes (tons of small airports surround the city), as well as a lot of helicopter traffic. Just checked, there are 65 public and private airports and helipads just in King County, WA.
I used to think I was seeing other drones back in 2011 when I got my first Phantom 1, but realized soon after that I was just seeing normal air traffic.
I chuckle each night I drive home looking at all the moving lights in the sky - I'm just waiting for the drone panic/parnoia to hit here as people's imaginations run amok. Perhaps we PNW'er have more sense than Jersey folks?

Yeah - I thought it started as a discussion of drone sightings over New Jersey. Who knew Moscow Russia was this close to Trenton?
Maybe so people can understand why some believe unknown drones flying around the sky could possibly be a threat. Just because a drone hasn't attacked (similar to what you see in the video) doesn't mean there's no threat. It ties in with the point when the government says drones flying around doing nothing bad are not a threat and there's nothing to worry about. Maybe or maybe not but when you cannot identify them and/or you cannot stop them, then it becomes a problem and the threat level is raised in some people's mind.

So I posted the video to show a drone attacking a building and it was supposed to make that minor connection for some and for others who just refuse to believe an unknown drone flying around means anything bad, they get nothing out of that video and they go back to talking about commercial airliners. And then there's you who couldn't make any sort of connection at all from that video and you think the video was about Moscow and apartment buildings. The video went right over your head and I can't even spoon-feed any information to you unless I spell it out in simple words and use a couple pages to force you to think critically about it and even then it isn't likely to resonate because the video isn't full of fake pictures and stupid ufos and luney theories that you prefer to dwell on.

I totally understand that reluctance. People will think you're nuts if you claim to have witnessed something totally unlikely and unusual, without conclusive evidence to back your claim.

And yet, hundreds of people are willing to report truck-sized drone sightings in New Jersey [and elsewhere], without ever producing any clear photos or videos or other convincing evidence of the things?

Drone panic leads to 269% increase in pilots reporting laser strikes

People taking things into their own hands now.

And you KNOW, FOR A FACT, that's not possible? Dr. Greer is a well respected investigator. Who are you? Won't you be surprised!
At any rate, he says it'll be disclosed before the next president is sworn in, so I guess we'll see....🤔

White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby said “many” drones were actually lawfully operated manned aircraft that pose no national security or public threat. One specific sighting that was dismissed by the White House and was immediately disputed by state and local officials was the report by Coast Guard personnel who said that 12 to 30 drones were trailing their ship in waters off Ocean County.
Kirby said they did “forensics” on that report and determined the Coast Guard were actually seeing aircraft heading into JFK Airport behind their ship and not drones.

That statement was immediately rejected by Rep. Chris Smith, R-NJ, who said he interviewed the “highly trained” Coast Guard officers himself. He said the officers recounted to him how their boat was followed by 12 to 30 drones about 100 feet away, with wingspans of 4 to 8 feet, and that they flashed their lights on and off at the ship. In addition, when the boat made a turn, the drones made the same turn, and traveled silently, with no propeller sound, at 20 knots, or 23 mph, keeping up with the speed of the ship.

I like the reply by the Coast Guard crew:

I really think people in the PNW get out more.

How do you pack 30 drones that are 6' across into a 100' area? Here's how: 30 drones - Copy.png

If I were on that cutter I'd have a lot of really good photos and they'd be plastered all over the news: well, after I cleaned my shorts.

Don't try and trick me with science! Just kidding. But what are you getting at?

*sorry I missed last sentence. I get it. But, do you think Coast Guard crew are at liberty to carry cell phones and photograph whatever they want and whenever they want while on patrol? I bet you that any photo they take while working is considered confidential US government property.

Oh, gee. You've convinced me now. Sure, everything is "possible". 🤣

There have been many cases in not-so-distant history of cult leaders promising the Earth would end on a certain date [just you wait, won't you be surprised]. You might as well sell everything you own right now, maybe invest it all in Bitcoin, might as well send me those bitcoins [because you certainly won't be needing them after that date], and on the big rapture day we'll all be magically beamed up to the mothership and transported to Nirvana, but only if y'all drinks this specially prepared kool-aid...

Or, you could try convincing your flock to accept that it's possible [everything's "possible", eh] to convert lead to gold [even water to wine]. After you've managed that simple step, it's dirt easy to further convince your followers to donate their hard-earned money allowing you to build a cathedral as a monument to commemorate your success in demonstrating that anything is possible.

PLEASE, come back and show us evidence of the promised revelations disclosed by "Dr. Greer" before inauguration day!

I'm sure this will be just as devastating to the drone community as you predicted RID would be...

And some private actor could drop a nuke on Trenton this afternoon. There is ALWAYS a threat from something. One other random event I mentioned in my classes - stolen from another lecturer - was the fact all the air around you can instantly move into a corner and you'll suffocate in a vacuum (yes, this is possible, but rather unlikely).

I had to look it up. A scientist with a sense of humor. I like it.

An expert in conspiracy theory doesn't negate them being a crackpot.
I don't care how much a celebrity is a well-known investigator, they might just be saying things to keep an audience.
There's even a TV program based on this premise. It's called "Ancient Aliens". That's just one example.
