New Jersey Drone Sightings May Not Be Drones. By Professor Will Austin.

Did you actually read the twitter post and listen to video explaining why the drones may be used for sniffing radioactivity? Did you actually go to the website I linked and verify for yourself the radiation levels in the areas identified?
Did you actually read what you wrote there? You know it makes no sense, eh?

Did you actually wonder why, if you've already got your map precisely indicating locations of higher than normal radiation levels, wouldn't it be more effective to dispatch a ground team directly to that location to investigate?

Or are you saying your map is actually useless, and you instead need to rely on mysterious drones to survey the entire State of New Jersey, where your map isn't showing elevated radiation levels?

This is your big gotcha moment. Is that what you think? I tell you what. I will go back to the subject and help you better understand what I posted and what it meant. BTW I love the backyard and that view of the sky. It is shame that no one in New Jersey ever saw anything like that until they looked up off the ground beginning in November 2024. I would make a postcard of it and send it to New Jersey officials and tell them that, from where you sit, life is good and they have nothing to worry about.

Easy to pick on the defenseless and the fringe lunatics in the community, please step up to the majors and analyze these videos please; would be curious to know your thoughts:
That first video shows an image ....
Funny you should say that. Read on...

There are various versions of that second video,

The rest of that news video is entirely useless.
Sorry I wasn't more specific; was looking for an analysis of the pilots thoughts and concerns and activities and their interactions with other pilots and ATC and the equipment. Didn't really need an astronomy lesson because once again, pictures and videos are irrelevant to the important part of the events that I'm discussing. Any photo or image can be explained away. But I understand we don't have any technical people here but only just the astronomers and scientists so it's no wonder these are the "answers." If you have anything more to add about what you heard, that would be great.

Very nice! Well played. Impeccable timing. Do I detect a bit of a smile? :)

Nope. It's just that more effort has gone into inventing bizarre theories [search for radioactivity, etc] to try to explain why all these mysterious drone sightings are being reported, when it would make more sense to question whether any of the reported "sightings" actually are drones and not just normal aircraft.

All we have is people claiming to have seen drones with endless media footage instead showing normal aircraft. Surely, in the weeks these things have supposedly been flying, someone ANYONE will have come up with some convincing evidence showing actual drones, no?

Here's a postcard shot for you from the front yard taken last week with my cellphone. That light in the sky isn't a drone, it's just the moon. 🎅🎄🌜:)

After your country gets overrun by illegal aliens from Mexico and Mars 👽, you're welcome to come visit Canada anytime. Bring your drones. We can fly them here -- no remote ID required (yet).

I've only ever been in England for 4 days in my life.
That's what they all say. ;) My apology I do not where I got that idea. I have definitely read a lot of your posts over the years and have learned some good technical information about all kinds of stuff. JPEG vs RAW, overuse and misuse of lens filters, and of course you do not need to constantly diddle with compass calibration to mention just a few.

That is great pic too! I have been to Canada several times and love it.

A little humor (and a little truth) to lighten the mood.

Not me, not my video:

Wow, some discussion...

Just a minor distraction, but I think I may have been misunderstood.

Here in Santa Cruz, there simply are no drones flying around at night. Occasionally when there is, it's usually mine. Which, BTW, tends to make my now-and-then night flights eventful. While I've never been confronted, I have seen one of my flights getting some neat summer video at night of the boardwalk mentioned on the local Santa Cruz FB page.

Anyway, that's simply, factually, the environment here.

So, if multiple drones were seen in the night sky, numbering 5 or more flying in formation, night after night for a month, it would definitely be a legitimate "what the h*ll's going on here" and mistaken manned aircraft would be a completely laughable explanation, given the coastal mountain topography.

Unfortunately, nothing to report... yet 🤣

This was fun. People who believe things with no supporting evidence; and people who are critical thinkers. Sort of like the Jesus faces in my coffee. Well, tbh, I don't see Jesus, I see naked ladies. But the process is the same.

Then there are these events that often surprise casual sky observers ... used to be people went to war over such events, and recent history can explain why.

Getting back to my post about radiation sniffing drone theory. I realize it was conjecture. But I made the effort to post the sources and the links with the assumption that anyone could dig further into it if they wish. I also verified myself the key claim in the twitter article that the Geiger Counter World Map showed raised readings in several areas in New Jersey and New York. I said in my post that, if it was reliable, the Geiger Counter World Map was a neat little public resource for communities to check radioactivity levels. Just for the record, I checked the Map again today and readings appeared to have returned to normal. The twitter article explained that several things could cause temporary increase in radiation levels including ironically drones and other aircraft flying with high tech experimental propulsion.

Contains video by John Ferguson (at bottom of twitter post), the CEO of a military drone company named Saxon Aerospace, who says that drones typically don't fly at night unless they are law enforcement or equipped with special sensors to look for things which may include infrared or thermal imaging, as well as gas and radioactivity sensing technology.

When the federal government fails to explain what they are doing and why, just like they have here, it may lead to speculation and panic. Now, I did say that if it turns out that in fact the feds are looking for a loose nuke or dirty bomb, then its the sum of all fears and all bets are off. What I meant by that was they must do what they feel they must do to eliminate such a terrorist threat.
