I’ve had my Mavic for a while now and thought an annual service was in order. Having read about Master Airscrew “STEALTH” props, I was tempted to change my OEM props, having flown both Silver and Gold tips I opted to give MA props a try.
Now for the DJI purist amongst you may I first apologise, there's no disrespect intended and trust you don’t view this as heresy, however as a recent addition to the droning community, I’m not averse to evaluate alternative ideas whatever they may be.
I ordered 2x sets (Black and Orange) from MA and they arrived in short time from the USA.
Impressed with my purchase, they have a very glossy appearance and were well boxed, with the props enclosed within a silk protection bag, I’ve attached a side-by-side comparison photo showing the structural differences of the glass fibre composite construction props.
They are of a differing design to standard DJI props to pitch and tips, and Master Airscrew is a recognised brand, specialising in props and accessories worldwide since 1976, that’s not to say DJI haven’t spent time, money and effort in due diligence with respect in their R&D department.
I don’t know if its that I’m getting to know the Platinum better, but the controls feel more responsive, I’m getting slightly longer flight times from my batteries, coupled with a quieter hovering pitch.
All in all they’re a great looking prop, value for £££ ? well once you take into consideration import duty, courier handling charge and vat, these work out to be considerably more expensive than DJI Gold (low noise) props, as for the longevity of these, well that remains an answer for another day.
Look forward to hearing any comments.
