Props Tangled in Grass: Question about motor obstruction warning

I landed in some grass that was just tall enough to touch the blades. The blade snagged the grass and the Mavic flipped over so that all 4 blades are now in the grass (lesson learned, landing pad ordered). They could not turn but the motors kept trying for a full 5 seconds before I could stop the motors. No damage but I got a motor obstruction warning obviously initiated when the blades were bound by the grass.

Before I fly again, is there anything I should inspect or test? I did take it up about 5 feet and it was stable and sounded normal. Just making sure.

Tks.

As long as you did not get any dirt in the motors or grass wound around the motor shaft you should be fine... just take it easy the next flight or two and be sure it flies properly. Also, re-check the seating of the props on the motors. While you are at it carefully inspect the props, especially at the screw hinge point for any hairline cracks that may have occurred.

BTW, how did you try to shut the motors off? There is a method to instant stop the motors by moving the sticks into a certain position, there are a couple options in the app on how to do that, not sure off the top of my head. Also, just holding the left stick down should stop in 3 seconds.

Thanks for the reply. I took it up last night and had no issues. Very stable with no extra noises.

As far as turning it off....well, funny thing happened on my way to using common sense. I sort of freaked out when I saw that the drone was on its back with props struggling to rotate so I grabbed it by its bottom side and picked it up (away from my head). Props went to full speed and I then held the left stick down until it powered off. That was a bad choice. I should have just held the left stick down until it turned off before picking it up but all I could see was $1000 lying their destroying itself so I reacted.

On another note, at full throttle - the Mavic can pull very hard!

Similiar thing happened to me last weekend. I landed badly on a board and the rear motors got tangled, so the motors could only move back and forth (as the motors' magnets got current pulses), not do a full spin, after like 2 secs shut off like normal landing. Seems fine for me, no motor overheating, nothing.
Only thing i can't judge is the sound, does yours sound atleast similiar to this?
