Signal problems FCC and 4G

I live in China now and I got Mavic 4 Pro. Overall, I love this drone but one thing that annoys me the most is its weak signal compared to my old Air 3S. My previous drone A3S had no signal issues at all, however, M4P has some problems and the signal is significantly weaker. Even when I use 4G connection it is the same, signal drops in places that A3S had no problem before. I talked to a few friends and they also have similar feelings that the signal is not as good as in their other drones.

Is it a common issue? Some people told me I may need to wait for a software update because M4P was too rushed and they messed up a few things. Or perhaps I should request a new drone from DJI?

Maybe it is because the dongle is now on the bottom. Or other interference on the drone.
But do you have FCC in China???
Yes China has FCC so the signal is much better than in some other regions.

For example, my A3S can easily fly up to 2 km while M4P struggles to reach 700 meters

With the 4g dongle, in theory, the drone can fly unlimited based on how strong the 4g signal is
You are right, but this theory doesn't work in my case :D So now I wonder if this is a general issue and wait for update or is it a hardware problem related to my drone or RC.

At least you have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty to sort things out. LOL!
Not so for us U.S. gray market purchasers!

I had the Air 3s and had no signal issues.

I am in the UK and got the Mavic 4 Pro last week with the RC Pro 2 and have much poorer range and frequent disconnects.

Cold the problem be the new RC PRO 2 controller ? It's States greater distance with the mav 4 only, now no way to prove it !
Unlikely, as so few of the RC Pro 2 units have been available to purchase, currently only in the most expensive and unavailable Creator Kit. Most are buying the RC 2 package instead, and the OP makes no mention of having an RC Pro 2. If anything, the RC Pro 2 probably has better signal stability and range. It sure ought to, for the extra money! LOL!

Might be user error. The controller orientation is more critical, since RC Pro 2 antennas only rotate down 90°, and apparently not out. Make sure the flat side of the antennas is, in fact, facing the drone in the sky at all times for best signal, and not the horizon. With the flip up screen independently tilted up, unlike the RC Pro, where the screen and controller are together in the same plane, there may be a tendency to hold the RC Pro 2 controller level, rather than still tipped up at an angle. When the controller itself is level, the flat side of the antennas are now facing the horizon, which will definitely degrade signal at close range.

So, make sure to also tilt the controller itself up at an angle for better range.
