Signal problems FCC and 4G

It is shame that the antennas can not be tilted upwards. When the drone is directly overhead you might need to hold the controller in very uncomfortable position to get the flat parts of the antennas to face the drone as per the instructions🫤
I completely agree, and am surprised they won't even let them extend out at all, only rotated down. Basically, the screen must always be kept parallel to the top surface of the controller for the antennas to be pointed at the drone when you tip the the entire extended set up at an angle to view the screen.

Last week I decided to return my drone to DJI and this week they will let me know if drone has a problem or if it is something else. Below the photo of poor reception. I even tested it against my old mini 3 pro and my small drone did much better in the same area....

I also talked to few people and it seems some people also have this problem, not only me.

BTW. I use RC2 and I do know how to properly adjust antennas, so this is not the problem.
Except the RC 2 has entirely different antennas that flip out and up.
These ONLY rotate down, and cannot be flipped out in any way.
Anyone tipping the screen up from the controller will have their antennas pointed at the horizon, instead of the sky and the drone. The screen and the top controller surface must always be parallel to each other for proper antenna orientation, so you also tip the controller up to have the screen tipped up.
Also forget about flying overhead! You'd have to hold the controller perpendicular to the ground.

Something to consider in the external antenna position is there are also internal antennas besides the external ones that have adjustment ability. Below are from an RC PRO and will be similar to what hides in the RC PRO 2.View attachment 182694View attachment 182695
When you say adjustment capability for internal antennas, how exactly would you go about adjusting the internal antennas, assuming they are also present?

Internal antennas are not adjustable. Probably my wording could have been better.
Your wording may have been a little confusing, but I think you make a good point that adjusting the direction and elevation of the controller to optimize signal strength may involve more than just optimizing the direction of the external antennas. Some positions of the controller may increase signal strength to the internal antennas, which may be the ones needing reorientation by slightly adjusting the angle of the controller laterally in one direction or another. When signal is attenuated, experiment with direction and orientation to maximize signal bars, assuming the external antennas are already optimized.

I had the same issue with terrible range in CE when i first got my drone with RC 2 but after a FW reflash it worked great. First flight I only got to 1.2km before the signal died but after the flash it went past 5km and signal only dropped 1 bar. Try the FW refresh via Assistant 2 again but refresh both the RC 2 and Mavic 4 Pro.
