Clouds Are Light and Fluffy

Clouds. Everyone loves them. But did you know that these beautiful, fluffy things weigh more than you'll ever imagine? Think, a million pounds or the equivalent of about 100 large trucks or elephants.

This kind of thing gives me a head ache. This must be a Quantum thing . lol

Rivers come from clouds, how much water is in a river and what does it way oops weigh?
I recollect that the weight of water in large dams has, in some places, caused ground tremors as they fill and from memory the Three Gorges Dam has depressed the earth's crust under and around it.

Glad you put this in Off-topic Phantomrain, all I know is that when you have to fly through them it's a worry.

Once your brain recovers from the stretch to return to near normal size, imagine that a thunderstorm dumps TONS of nitrogen on a farm field. Ok, now return to exploding brain mode. Later we can discuss clusters of galaxies :)

And consider this, about 800cubic meters of air weighs about a tonne.

( ballpark figures at sealevel, but you get the idea)
