Flying near Seven Sisters and Beachy Head

I think you will find that The National Trust policy is no flying FROM land under their control; if you take off from outside their borders I don't believe they can stop you flying OVER their controlled area. Operating under VLOS rules this doesn't get you far, but means you don't have to be...

Military jets, a-10 warthog flyby captured with mp2

Sure, I was around SK 23445 75963, the junction of the B6521 and the footpath going downhill to the B6001. They were flying down the valley of the River Derwent, North to South. I'd be about 230 Metres ASL, the river at that point is about 120 Metres ASL, although clearly the planes were higher...

Military jets, a-10 warthog flyby captured with mp2

I'd be interested to know if the Warthogs were 'electronically aware' they were under surveillance. I realise it could be dependent on what 'devices' the pilots had switched on. I'm just curious, it was a nice tracking shot. Round here (Peak District, Derbyshire, UK) the C130s do low speed...

    Old guy checking in

I don't know your area, but as you are also new to the forum I thought I'd point out the UK sub-forum. It isn't the busiest place, but if you browse through the threads someone may have made a suitable post before, or you could ask your question again. Good Luck.

    New drone owner U.K.

There is a UK sub-forum on this site; a post there might more likely to be seen by locals who can help. Don't spam every single sub-forum, but I'd certainly browse the other 'general' forums to see if they might be appropriate. Regards

Need a way to record multiple gps coordinates

The straight answer to that question is 'I don't know', but I wanted to make you aware that the EXIF data relates to where the camera IS, not what it's focussed on. Thus if you fly at a low altitude directly over the cable track and look directly down on at, assuming the still shots do have EXIF...

Thoughts on upcoming changes and licensing

You were correct not to hold your breath. From another sub-forum post on this site. CAA Registration and Training detail. Free for a Flyer (after passing an Online exam), £9 per year for the Drone Owner (Operator). Note the ‘Can’t register before 5th November’ but ‘Must Register by 30th...

    Force Landing @ 30% Battery

Isn't there another setting that tells it what to do when the low battery condition is met? IE Show a warning massage OR initiate a landing sequence. While writing I realise I might be confusing the Low Battery responses with those on a laptop, but I'll leave the comment just in case I'm not :)...

Thoughts on upcoming changes and licensing

Sept 13 2019. I have just posted, responding to a thread on an International sub-forum, but as it's relevant to the UK I'll copy it here. I chased up the UK situation earlier this week, exchanging emails with relevant people. Facts: The relevant web site is Dronesafe.uk This is run by CAA &...

    Uk laws

I chased up the UK situation earlier this week, exchanging emails with relevant people. Facts: The relevant web site is Dronesafe.uk This is run by CAA & NATS. The Registration page is here. It is the page to check for situation updates. There is a CAA page on Drones, but their 'front door' is...

    Mavic RC reverse charging

I haven't tried it, but Post 6 in this thread might answer your question, or at least give you someone to directly ask your question to. I suspect he might be charging the controller from an independent source, not the 'android phone' you mention. Remember that a Mavic battery that has been...

Mavic Landing gear, with shock absorbers!

With tongue firmly in cheek ... With the un-damped springs the 'arrow' profile end is needed so that the foot will penetrate soft ground, to be gripped and retained. Otherwise the aircraft will be thrown up and sideways when landing 'one foot first' on uneven ground, such as grass. ft landing on...

Mavic for Farm Use ? A few Questions:

It seems, from reading many previous postings, that the standard response to 'forward vision sensor problems', especially with a new craft / new user, is, 'have you removed both of the protective clear stickers'? I know, it seems like an insulting question, but apparently some people have...

    Crashed Mavic

Thunder-drones has answered most of the question; I'll answer the easy bit (I know my place!). OP means Original Poster, aka the person who started the thread, aka YOU, Blueflame2007. Regards.

Active Track not working at high altitude.

Yes, the limit of 400m above the take-off point is intended in the drones limitations. Yes, a LOT of other people have experienced the same. You could start another (boring) conversation about why this limit shouldn't exist, but really it has all been said before, time and time again. The limit...
