I've noticed that there are now a ton of copy 8331 Mavic props on eBay for cheap. They come in a variety of colours. Using different colours front and rear makes orientation far easier during LOS flight (and look cool).

Has anyone tried any? If so, what were your thoughts? We're they well balanced and if not how did you balance them as they clip on the motor?

Thanks.

Many posts here on how they are complete failures. Along with the fact the the OEM (DJI) props are cheap to begin with.

Thanks. I was assuming that they would be. I use Chinese copies on quite a few of my customs, but they always need balancing which is easy as they fit on a balancing spindle.

A lot of people had trouble with 3rd party 8331 props. Some of them even make contact with the Mavic body mid-flight. Play it safe and pay a few more bucks for OEM DJI props.

If you need some props, here are a few places where you can purchase them:

Gold 8331 Mavic Props

Platinum 8331 Mavic Props

Thanks. It was more of a thought at the moment given how cheap the copies are.
I'm not too desperate as I'm still on my original props. They have almost 150k on them and still look practically new. I also have a spare set. I'm good at collecting spare parts that go unused, so will prob just hold off till a time that I actual need to replace them.

I'm not sure how good the copies would go in matching the prop pitch of the genuine ones, this would have some effect on flying performance I expect.

Does spraying a light coat of bright paint on the props maybe help satisfy the color urges?
Maybe. They'll most likely be off balance then too.

I have NO issues with the ones I bought! Colored props?

I have NO proof thus far that the aftermarket props that I bought are inferior to the stock ones.

I saw a picture of an aftermarket prop posted here just a few days ago. The attachment point was so off center it was scary...... I couldnt find the photo to link it here.

Thanks guys...
Was just a thought to assist orientation as I sometimes just fly LOS without looking at the screen. I sometimes like to fly that way if I am taking fast and very low flight video.

I'd strongly advise against spraying props. If the spray is not put down perfectly even on both sides of the prop then it would unbalance the prop or may alter the shape and airflow of the prop slightly which then can't be balanced out.

The genuine 8331 props are so soft on the tips, I put a ding in the end of one of mine when it caught the rear landing gear foot, while being folded out of the way

Don't buy these they are junk.

Since there are so many "Knock Offs" showing up, can anyone verify that the DJI OEM props are embossed with the 8331 product code as are the 8330's ? I would assume if they come in a DJI OEM box, they would be authentic, but who knows if they are copying the box as well... Thanks

I guess you can get them from DJI directly
