Delivering life jacket/flotation device with mavic

I've had this crazy idea floating around in my head for a while: Delivering a floatation device (and rope) to a victim who has fallen through thin ice.

Not as a primary rescue technique but as a backup or secondary while the primary rescuers continue with their strategy.

Did a couple more test flights this morning sans rope. I've done other tests delivering several hundred feet of rope.

A larger drone like matrice 200 would be better, but this a great inexpensive solution.

I think the coastguard, in the UK at least, have started doing this, I seem to remember a national news piece (Channel 4) a while back covering it.

I'm wondering what is it you used to hook the rope to and to be able to release it?

The Aussies have also been using drones to deliver floatation devices and a bit of shark watching. I think it may have been televised on one of those Bondi Beach docu soaps.
