Is it possible to DIY a compliant Remote ID module? I have a kit that I built for another project, but it has everything hardware-wise to transmit RID via WiFI, just needs the code. From what I've seen so far, it seems there are no provisions for a person to create their own...

Thoughts?

It should be possible since other companies managed to get their devices listed here. That climb might not be worth the view though unless you're planning on selling your module.

13. Can I make my own Means of Compliance (MOC)?Yes, although the process is technical and to date the FAA has only accepted a singleRID MOC developed by ASTM (ASTM-F3586-22). In most scenarios, compliance withthe FAA-accepted ASTM standard will be less burdensome than attempting to develop aunique MOC. To submit a RID MOC, contact the FAA at [email protected].
