Mini 2 Hover testing in 35 MPH turbulent winds

I also tried to do a screen recording of the Fly App to show the onboard camera POV but messed that up. This was mainly just a quick side video before I sent it up for an architectural photography run about 150 feet up and 1800 feet away at the furthest. The wind warning only flashed briefly when the gusts occasionally got up to 40mph interestingly enough. I recovered it by palm landing after I was done. I love how stable and smooth this thing flies, on the controls it feels just like phantom 4 pro 2 I used to rent regularly back in 2019.

I'm not saying you're wrong about the wind speed but those flags absolutely do not look like they are even in a steady 20mph wind...

How fast did you go through a battery?

If looking at the flags in the background, they don't even come close to indicate winds up to 35-40mph... Flags stretches somewhere between 12-18mph, so based on your video the wind speed was more likely around the lower limit.

This is also indicated by the fact that the app wind warning just flashed briefly (usually start to flash around 8m/s... or 18mph).

35 - 40mph is 15,6m/s - 17,9m/s... and a Mini 2SE have a max speed of 16m/s. If the wind really was as strong as you suggest, your drone would at best not be able to make any headway at all against the wind... & at worst, be blown backwards.

Hovering in higher winds is not necessarily get pilots in trouble, it is trying to make it back to the home point with high headwinds and low battery levels. That would be would be a test that I wouldn't suggest trying :)

Slup is 100% right. The flags represent approx 15-20mph winds, and were perhaps filmed at a different location or time than the flight.

We licensed regular aircraft pilots, and many drone pilots who fly in high wind areas like the Obx in Nc, (made famous by the Wright Bros) know high winds fairly precisely by judging flags and airport windsocks.

The poster made a fair point saying the mini2se does pretty well in high wind, however he better stay home on days with true 35mph wind!
