How difficult/easy is it to get permission to fly in New York ?

In the past few days., New York city experienced some serious flooding.

Especially the last week of September 2023

I asked because, there is a LOT of "Drone Videos" on Youtube showing the flood state of each borough/community.

Low flying drones, over people, traffic, under bridges, etc.

How quick is "application for permission" processed ?

* not 100% sure of New York City drone laws.

You are able to fly instantly if you do what most others are doing which is basically following the FAA rules and ignoring the NYC rules. Otherwise, perhaps you can use the processes outlined here and you *might* get a permit just in time to capture the NEXT great flood of NYC.
