New DJI FPV drone on the way!

DJI FPV : le droniste chinois entre dans la course ! - Conseils d'experts Fnac (googleusercontent.com)

Renowned for its professional and amateur video drones, the DJI is launching an assault on a new sector. DJI doesn't stop when it comes to conquering the skies and launches a new, more racy drone, the DJI FPV, for thrill seekers.
When it comes to drones, there are two schools. Those who use their aircraft to capture stunning panoramas or bring back breathtaking videos and photos, and those who prefer racing and competition, who swear by the performance of flight. DJI has proven its worth to the former and now launches a drone capable of aerial prowess.
A COMBO FOR IMMERSION

You guessed it, when we talk about FPV (First Player View)we immediately think of immersion and the sensations of flying. DJI's expertise in this area is well-proven, especially with its Goggles DJI. But to match its first drone specifically dedicated to flying, the manufacturer has chosen to present a brand new version of its immersive glasses. This new version of the FPV glasses is more futuristic and features a more aggressive design and serpe-cut lines. It's a good deal with a traditional virtual reality headset.
These glasses emphasize immersion and fluidity. They are capable of transmitting to the pilot a stream ofHD images up to 120 fps! Enough to ensure a first-rate fluidity, essential during the most nervous driving sequences where a blink of an eyelid can be enough to lose a race! In addition, the FPV drone is capable of offering a 150 degree field angle, ideal for not missing any details of the scene!
Once in the heat of the moment, you need to have millimetre control of your aircraft. To do this, the pilots have a radio-controller. The latter ensures ideal precision and ergonomics ensuring optimal grip. Indeed, this controller looks like a conventional console controller.
Drivers who want to take their practice even further will benefit from DJI's all-new Motion Controler. This motion controller allows you to control intuitively and naturally according to your gestures. It's a whole new way of flying that fans won't be able to do without.
A HIGH-PERFORMANCE DRONE
It is certainly interesting to enjoy a first-rate immersion, but what interests the aces of broomsticks are the performance of the device. Far from what DJI usually offers, this FPV drone is a game-changer.
One can imagine, with such aggressive lines, its 4 powerful rotors and its stocky body, the new drone DJI is not here to laugh. He wants to conquer the heavens and establish himself as the only monarch of his celestial kingdom.
I could tell you about the diameter of the blades or the power of the rotors, but this information is not the most relevant. On the other hand, there are other figures that go straight to the heart: 140 km/h of top speed. For comparison, a Mavic Air 2 struggles to reach 70 km/h in ideal conditions. The acceleration is not left out since the drone reaches 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds! It's better than any motorcycle or supercar!
In the same way, DJI's FPV drone boasts an ascent speed of 15 m/s or 54 km/h! Again, the other drones of the manufacturer often advance figures 3 times less impressive!
Finally, the 2000 mAh battery of this racing drone provides a range of up to 20 minutes. The DJI headset incorporates a battery that allows about 2 hours of use, while the controller promises 9 hours of intensive piloting. The motion controller offers about 5 hours of use.
FAST BUT SECURE FLIGHT
Flying fast and hard is one thing, but flying safely is another. To do this, DJI has mobilized its know-how to ensure maximum safety for pilots.
Indeed, the FPV drone is equipped with a multitude of sensors. There is a lower lamp, ensuring better visibility and detection of obstacles forward and down. The drone is also equipped with aReturn To Home feature in case of low battery.
In order to reassure pilots, both novice and seasoned, DJI had the good idea to integrate an emergency braking and hovering button into its controller. If you feel overwhelmed by the performance of this drone, a simple push of this button will stop the aircraft and place it in hovering until you can better understand the situation.
Finally, the FPV drone offers 3 flight modes to match all levels.

The N mode is the easiest to use and is recommended for beginner drivers. It combines traditional commands with electronic security assistance such as obstacle detection.

S mode is an intermediate mode, leaving the pilot's hand enough to express his desire for freedom. This mode takes up the simplified steering controls of existing DJI drones to ensure maneuverability and immersive experience.

The M mode,or manual, leaves the field open to the dronist's flying skills. It is in this mode that the FPV drone is able to express its full potential. This more pointed flight mode requires some in-flight experience and only seasoned pilots will take advantage of manual mode.

DJI has been waiting for DJI in the FPV slot for a long time. That is done and we understand why the dronist has been so late. Indeed, DJI left nothing to chance and wanted to be sure to offer a real racing drone combining performance and experience. The FPV helmet, the traditional controller, the motion controller and the drone itself ensure that the pilots become masters and first-rate sensations.
However, it will be necessary to wait until March 2, 2021 to buy the DJI air fighter, and at the same time discover its price.

I wonder how much the Fly More combo will cost. $1,500? DJI Care another $100?

Does anybody know whether the new motion controller (and fpv goggles) will be compatible with the Mavic 2 pro? Knowing DJI’s history, I am afraid I already know the answer, but one can hope, right?

hm, "fpvpilots.com" is registered since January. Though it doesn't look like by owners of this forum - registrar is different than in mavicpilots.com and phantompilots.com. Or maybe the owners use many registrars.

for sure not
but nice that you bring it up
the m2p with goggles re combo is the single system that you can put near the new fpv combo
if you dont need the fpv moves and that top speed from the fpv combo you can get a better video feed, better quality footage and head tracking flight mode from m2p+goggles re combo

23:05......... Are you kidding me? Is that PROPS in the video? Thats a deal breaker if the camera is going to pick up props
That's not so strange after all ... this honker seems to go with a single axis gimbal ... the camera angle is mainly set at a fixed angle & isn't floating during flight (probably adjustable from the controller), this in order to mainly regulate the cruising speed... the drone speed preferred (AC pitch down) gives a angle where the camera points horizontally, see last pic below. This is how it have always worked for all FPV quads. Maybe the camera have horizontal hold when in some kind of other mode than in FPV (camera drone mode ?) ... but then the props will for sure be visible (especially in hover)

So if slow speeds is desired=low AC pitch down angle=low camera up angle ... it risks showing props in view. Prefer to go faster, the camera angle up needs to increase to still look straight forward=less risk for props in view.

Most freestyle FPV pilots use something between 20-40 degrees up tilt on the camera (I use 35 myself) ... Racing pilots maybe 65 or even higher. Cinewhoop quads (those ones with prop ducts/guards) uses very little drone pitch usually=low speeds & then the camera perhaps is only 15 degrees up.

This could have been avoided if DJI had used a dead Cat frame design ...

Instead of a stretched X design.

Video is gone......Guess DJI didn't like the props in the video LOL
