The ban passed the U.S. House

Do you think your senators (or any senators) have time to reply to you personally? I mean, it would be great if possible, but replying to fan mail couldn't be on the top of their daily to do list. Best case, they probably get a summary showing they've received X letters on X topic this week.
NOPE - hence my wording - "Expecting" canned responses. Earlier in this thread, some members showed "not so" canned responses from their representives. If all I get is the "can," I won't lose sleep.

What are they so busy doing, that they have no time.
Well, for starters, no person on the planet would have time to personally respond to thousands of letters (even if that was their full-time job).

And this topic is small potatoes to most folks. Just imagine how many letters (or emails) they've been receiving on other topics.

Sen. Tester in the senate will introduce their version of the DJI drone ban bill. Not good at all.Worse news than the other version.
Found the story at Dronexl.

It's no worse than the House's version. It's more or less the same thing. From this article:

Sen. Tester's office said:
  • Add Chinese drone manufacturing DJI to the Federal Communications Commission “Covered List,” which would prohibit the company’s drones from connecting to U.S. communications infrastructure;
  • Require the Department of Defense to determine whether other Chinese drone manufacturers should be added to the list of Chinese military companies operating in the United States; and
  • Establish a grant program for state and local law enforcement agencies to replace their existing DJI systems with U.S.-made drones.

If this passes out the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee, where Tester is the chairman, it would easily be merged with the House version.

Virtually all DJI products are affected in this ban, even their PowerStation and handheld cameras

Will not do a bit of good, save your breath.
If you write you senator expecting them to remove the portion of the bill dealing with drones in it's entirety, then you are correct, that's not going to happen. On the other hand, if you write to suggest it be revised to include changes such as a grandfather clause or conditions under which DJI can make changes to make their product acceptable, then it could very well happen, as such changes have been made this way before.

The timing is impeccable:

The republicans are in full protectionism mode, with the lobbying by Skidio.
Except that the bill was introduced to the Senate by a Democrat. In this case, both parties are equally happy to screw us over for money.. no one is honest here.

They brought in a big wig senator in the senate with his version of the bill that in all practical purposes will pass the ban along with the bigger package, so its probably just a matter of when they will hold their vote on it.Sen.Tester is his name.Writing these people is a complete waste of time
as they only listen to what is going on in their party period.

is he going to compensate the millions of drone owners not being able to use their device they paid for with his bill?

This question has been asked ad nauseam......no one is getting compensated for their drone(s) ...and no drones that are presently in the hands of the public are getting grounded...and,no, the sky isn't falling
