U.S. Customs blocking DJI drone imports

I ordered an Air 3S through DJI yesterday. No mention of any delays (not that I'd necessarily expect this).

I'll come back and report on my delivery experiences.

Shucks, look like I won't get it tomorrow. Did you fill out the form asking for your SS#, etc? I did not but did fill out a shorter form asking for contact info.

No, I was never asked to fill out any information.
 
Pretty sure DJI started hearing about delays when they sent the Air 3S in advance to some of the creators who didn't get them. I agree they probably thought all is good and everything will get through going forward (because they've done everything they need to do on their end) but if they haven't yet learned from NEO and now Air 3S then I hate to see the next launch. I honestly don't think there is much you can do in advance to ensure it all works especially when the customs process on our end is so unpredictable.

One thing for sure, no ban in place and there are issues; if that ban gets officially implemented, nothing is going to get in legally. We'll be looking for ways to bring in drones from Canada even if that means one drone at a time as a tourist.

Bought my Air3S from DJI last Tuesday, notified on Thursday being shipped by DSL, arrived Friday, Los Angeles, cleared custom Friday and sat there until Sunday when it moved to San Francisco being delivered on Monday, life is good.
 
Some of the few comments they have are just ridiculous.
Another indicator of the gray matter capacity of the many in this country.
The one about the DJI products dropping explosive devices is a good example.
If it wasn’t a DJI product, they would find another avenue to fit the need.

That's the message I got from DHL for shipment on my Air 3s. I believe that does not mean it has been cleared by customs, just processed for clearance.

Correct. Once it departs Cinny, you're in the clear.

My Air 3S has been stuck in Los Angeles Customs since Saturday October 19th. DHL customer service said CBP REQUIRES verification of my complete contact details, my SS number, and intended use of the product. The Government already knows most of this, but I must verify everything! DHL said the information will be handled in the strictest security not shared by anyone but CBP. I asked a lawyer friend — he said it’s legit, CBP can request this information anytime they desire to…. So, I gave it to them on a secure site. DHL then said all requested information was provided to CBP, there’s nothing more I, or they, can do besides wait….🤬

“All documentation for this order has now been submitted, and your shipment is now pending review to clear UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Customs. You will be contacted if any further issues arise, but no further action is required at this time.‘

I went through the same thing, uploaded the top of my recent 1040 and I now have a Mini 4 Pro sitting on my countertop waiting for the workday to end.

Great! Unfortunately, all I have is a digital client copy of my 1040, and it has the SS# XXXXXX. I lost my card decades ago. When you apply for a replacement, SSA practically pleads with you not to get one, you really don’t need a physical card, 😂 So, I never got one. I THINK I provided proof, but I won’t know until October 25th 5pm 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t think you need the form, you need to provide DHL, who will give to CBP, a document providing your name, address and SS#. Copies of the top of your 1040, w/o financials works. SS card, or W-2 works. Black out financials. I don’t have these (long story, 😂), so I tried another document. I’ll know if it works on the 25th…
