What is the icon in lower right corner of map screen?

As one of those people who DOES read manuals, add me to the list of those who think the MPP manual sucks. I can find this no where.
It's an inclined icon...looks like an upside down pad lock in the lower right corner of the map screen; when you toggle the map screen to full, it's the second icon from the left...just to the right of "Warning Space Setting".
WTH is it and what does it do?

I do not know; there was a very short thread about this a week ago or so but no conclusion.

Could it be the ejector seat? I've been watching too many Bond movies. Good question though - that icon doesn't seem to do anything.

I think someone posted, a few days ago, that it removes your track from the map during a flight.

Haven't flown enough to even notice the tracks on the map. I'll take a look soon and try it. Thanks!
