This may have been pointed out somewhere in the forums already but I'm sure many haven't seen it, if so: Transport Canada has an "infographic" that users can download for reference regarding drone rules in Canada (here).
On that infographic is the below wording. Read it carefully. Now, if your...
Recently I went up to visit my family in Winnipeg. While there I took a tour of the remarkable Canadian Museum for Human Rights. It was quite the eye opener. After we were done I drove across the bridge and broke out the Mavic. It was such a beautiful area I thought it would be perfect for a...
Head to Canada net week, just gone through the revised drone regs, and looked at the public consultation on proposed future regs...... wow.
What to pack? for a country with a fair amount of movie & TV production, seem to be restricting a great film making tool....

Transport Canada is relaxing its restrictions on recreational drone users -- eliminating rules for pilots on how close they can fly the devices around animals, buildings, and other structures.
The updated safety measures...

Hi all! Here’s a fairly quick Edmonton sights/attractions travel-type video in 4K, shot purely by drone. It seems that not all clip transitions got exported and some are broken. Either way, do check it out!
This little solo project of mine has been a LOT of work and more challenging than my 71...
Took a few shots from my family's lakelot near Cherhill in Alberta. Not particularly exciting, but the area is quite lovely. Taken at around 90M. Cheers!
Hi!
Has anyone traveled to Brazil or Canada recently?
I'm trying to gather some information on how and where to register a drone, and other possible requirements in those countries... Any solid information is welcome!
Thanks in advance!
Rod.
Not sure if this has been picked up elsewhere but I noticed today that there have been some some subtle but significant changes to the Canadian drone rules.
Here's the 'new' version... (bold by me)
• within 90 m above the ground or lower
• at least 30 m away from vehicles, vessels, and the...
started flying last month! I like to get up in the air at every opportunity, but I'm not huge into photography. I'm more about the experience of flying. I really enjoy the relaxation of cruising and taking in the view, but it's the tense moments of flying that I enjoy the most.
I won't fly in...
Hello everyone,
Besides meeting like minded people here, one of my main reasons to sign up is to figure out where other Mavic Pilots fly in my area.
It seems Canadian regulations make it impossible to fly legally anywhere.
Where do you guys fly in Toronto (+ 1hr around Toronto)?
Are there any...
Hey guys, I recently bought a Mavic Pro from DJI and I found out that if you live in Canada the best way to save money is to buy straight from the DJI website.
DJI currently offers a sale on their drones, with tax included in their prices, and with free expedited shipping (1-3 days). Canadian...
If you think the edict from Transport Canada is a problem for recreational fliers . . read the small print in their Staff Instruction 623-001. . . Anyone who has an SFOC likely skimmed over that Note: but I am working on achieving "COMPLIANCE" . . so I have actually been reading it.. . . and...
Hello everyone! In light of the new regulations given to recreational drone pilots here in Canada, I was curious as to other's opinions on the rules regarding flight in national and provincial parks. In short, you're basically not allowed to takeoff/land without getting permission from the park...
I know there has been discussion the last few couple days about Canada (Transport Canada) coming down with some new drone laws. Here is a story AirVūz did explaining why it will be tougher if you plan to fly there, especially if you are a hobbyist. Here's the full AirVūz News Story: AV News...
Hey Guys.
First post.
I am flying into LAX in 3 days, then Canada and back to US.
I will be hauling a Mavic with 3 batteries.
Has anyone had any experience with:
* Customs and getting Lithium Batteries in?
* Customs and getting a Drone into the country (can I bring in carry on? Or should I...
For all you Canada flyers out there, do you know if you need to be a certain age to apply, and how long did it take you to get your license? I'm under 18 doing commercial videos for companies.
Thanks.

I'm heading off to Palm Springs in a week and I'm wondering if There is any laws regarding the import of drones of Canada to the U.S. I know about registering it. But is there a new fees or laws about importing. Help would be appreciated.
P.S anybody have any good spots to fly?
Any new Mavic pilots (there arent any old ones!) in Victoria area or southern Vancouver Island? Challenging weather for sure, and finding good flying areas but maybe we can meet up for some quality airtime.
