Is it worth getting a drone (for photos) when there are few places to fly in the UK?

Hello! I am new to this forum and I am looking for some advice and opinions from experienced UK flyers. I have been thinking about buying the Mini 3 Pro to take pictures of pretty and/or dramatic places in the UK. I do not yet own a drone (although I used one with a very short flight time for...

Local government doesn't mention drone laws.

Flying a drone for commerical use and have gotten permission from the business. My local government doesn't have any information on their stance on drones. Just wondering if that means I defer to the FAA or if I should still ask my local government if it's ok to fly. I'm Part 107 licensed. Thanks!

Not always the drone operators who are wrong

I try and fly by the rules and do the correct thing. In Switzerland I wanted to fly my drone about 4km from a heliport (Interlaken) so technically within the 5km zone. After telephoning the airport I was sent by email a form to complete. For some reason, the heliport wanted 24 hours notice...

    DRONE REGULATION

I have read many posts on the internet, and even this forum of people doing pretty outrageous things with their drones. Videos abound of hacking your drone to go higher and faster. People fly over cities or invade airspace illegally, oblivious to the law. The question that continues to pervade...

    Drones on planes

I recently noticed this message at an Emirates counter (not the check-in counter but the pre-boarding one). I asked the person what the issue is with drones. The reply was that the drones have (prop) blades and so are a security issue. Needless to say I didn't own up that I have a drone nor...

Small airport advisory and no answer

Hello all, I have 3 small airports that I get advisory notices about in AirMap near my home. If I win too fly and do not get an answer when I call the supplied number what should I do? Can I assume they are closed, after 2/3 calls or so and not need to be concerned? I’m new to this great hobby...

Airmap discrepancy solved...kinda. (Email from Airmap)

Hello all, as I was searching for places to fly I came across an odd discrepancy in the Airmap app. You will see in the pic provided that some roads have 'yellow' on them. The issue is that they do not always have yellow on the same road... for example, highway 95 turns from yellow to white and...

Jailbreaking DJI Mavic Pro Platinum (MPP)

Has anyone with the new DJI Mavic Pro Platinum (MPP) tried jailbreaking it to remove the limitations? If so, what happens to the ESC parameters that are the essence of the Platinum (e.g. Quiet flight, extended flight time)?

    What is DJI doing!

A skit..... Hey DJI, do I have permission to fly my drone today? The one that you manufactured and evidently control from your R&D teams systems. I mean I'm just wondering if it's ok, since I am apparently just renting my drone from you, I didn't know my money was just a security deposit. See...
